Allan Tai
Allan Tai (born 29 January 1980) is a Malaysian former badminton player. He was part of the Malaysia junior team that won the silver medal at the 1998 Asian Junior Championships in the boys' team event. In 2001, Tai became the finalist at the India Satellite tournament, and in 2002, he won the Smiling Fish Satellite tournament in Thailand. Badminton
Badminton is a racquet sport played using racquets to hit a shuttlecock across a net. Although it may be played with larger teams, the most common forms of the game are "singles" (with one player per side) and "doubles" (with two players per side). Badminton is often played as a casual outdoor activity in a yard or on a beach; formal games are played on a rectangular indoor court. Points are scored by striking the shuttlecock with the racquet and landing it within the opposing side's half of the court. Each side may only strike the shuttlecock once before it passes over the net. Play ends once the shuttlecock has struck the floor or if a fault has been called by the umpire, service judge, or (in their absence) the opposing side. 1998 Asian Junior Badminton Championships
The 1998 Asian Junior Badminton Championships is an Asia continental junior championships to crown the best U-19 badminton players across Asia. This tournament were held at the Kuala Lumpur Badminton Stadium, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from 15-21 June 1998. Medalists China boys' and girls' team sweep the title after beat Malaysia 3–2 and South Korea 5–0 respectively. The Indonesian and Taiwanese boys' and girls' finished in third place. In the individuals event, Chien Yu-hsiu surprised the competition when he captured the boys' singles gold. The Badminton World Federation (BWF) is the international governing body for the sport of badminton recognised by the International Olympic Committee (IOC). It was founded in 1934 as the International Badminton Federation (IBF) with nine member nations (Canada, Denmark, England, France, Ireland, Netherlands, New Zealand, Scotland and Wales). In 1981 the IBF merged with the World Badminton Federation, and on 24 September 2006, at the Extraordinary General Meeting in Madrid, the name of the organization was changed to Badminton World Federation (BWF). Chetan Anand Buradagunta (born 8 July 1980) is a badminton player from India. Anand is a four-time national champion in 2004, 2007, 2008 and 2010, and three-time South Asian Games men's singles champion in 2004, 2006 and 2010. He has a career best world ranking of world no 10. His ranking has dropped to 54 since October 2010 due to his ankle injury. He is a recipient of the Indian Arjuna Award in 2006.
