The Allaiwal is a tribe of Swati origin which inhabits the lands north of Nandhiar ( Batagram) and south of Kohistan - in Pakistan. Hazara Expedition Of 1888
The Hazara Expedition of 1888, also known as the Black Mountain Expedition or the First Hazara Expedition, was a military campaign by the British against the tribes of Kala Dhaka (then known as the Black Mountains of Hazara) in the Hazara region of what is now Pakistan. On 18 June 1888, two British officers and four Gurkha soldiers were killed in an altercation between British reconnaissance patrols and antagonistic tribes. Battagram ( ur, , ps, ) is a city and Union Council of Battagram District in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province of Pakistan. It is located at 34°41'N 73°1'E and has an altitude of 1038 metres (3408 feet). Kohistan (;'' "Land of Mountains"''), also called Indus Kohistan (), was an administrative district within the Hazara region of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province in Pakistan that was bifurcated into Upper Kohistan and Lower Kohistan in 2014, and Kolai-Palas in 2017. It covered an area of and had a population of 472,570 at the 1998 Census. Geographically, Kohistan stretched from the border with Gilgit-Baltistan in the north, in the east by Mansehra District, in the south by Battagram District, and on the west by Shangla and Swat districts.
