Swati (1984 Film)
''Swati'' is a 1984 Telugu language, Telugu-language drama (film and television), drama film, written, produced and directed by Kranthi Kumar. The film starred Suhasini, Bhanu Chander and Sharada (actress), Sharada in lead roles. Upon release the film received positive reviews and became instant hit at the box office. The film won four Nandi Awards, two Filmfare Awards South, and was premiered at International Film Festival of India. The film was remade in Hindi with Swati (1986 film), same name and in Kannada as ''Usha''. Plot Swati (Suhasini) lives with her mother Saraswathi, who brought her up as a single mother and hasn't revealed anything about her husband. And so, Swathi thinks that her father is a cheater. Svati ( sa, स्वाति, svāti, translit-std=IAST) is a feminine Hindu name that is a compound of + ('great goer', in reference to its remoteness) meaning 'very beneficent'. Probably referring to its brightness call "the real pearl" in Bhartṛhari's kāvyas. Swati (born 14 May 1993) is an Indian field hockey player and is a member of the India women's national field hockey team. She hails from Haryana and plays as the goalkeeper. Career In January 2018, Swati was part of the 33-members Indian Women’s Players for the national camp starting in Bengaluru’s Sports Authority of India campus on January 3. Swati made her debut on 5 March 2018 in Seoul, where India played Korea as part of the Korea tour and Swati's crucial save in the 23rd minute denied the hosts a penalty corner. In the fourth quarter, she made some important saves and saved two penalty corners in the last quarter. In this match, India beat Korea for a score of 1-0. Swati Maliwal (born 15 October 1984) is an Indian activist. She is the current Chairperson of Delhi Commission for Women. Before joining DCW, Maliwal worked as the advisor to the Chief Minister of Delhi on public grievances. Maliwal was a core member of the Indian Against Corruption movement led by social activist Anna Hazare and Arvind Kejriwal. After the formation of the Arvind Kejriwal government in 2015, Maliwal was appointed the Chairperson of the Delhi Commission for Women. Personal life Maliwal was born in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh on 15 October 1984.
