All Assam Chess Association
The All Assam Chess Association ( as, সদৌ অসম দবা সন্থা) is a registered (under the Societies Registration Act: XXI of 1860, Number 1347 of 1981–82) chess association of the Assam state of India. It was formed in the late 1960s by Bodiyuz Zaman from Jorhat. The first president of the association was Kamakhya Prasad Tripathi. It is affiliated with the All India Chess Federation and officially accredited by the Fédération Internationale des Échecs, (FIDE). Affiliates Till date AACA has managed to establish district affiliates in each of Assam's districts. It has no less than 14 Districts out of a possible 23 districts, as well as various chess organizations under its affiliation. The district affiliates and organizations are even able to send players to participate regularly in National and International chess tournaments and events. All India Chess Federation
The All India Chess Federation (AICF) is central administrative body for the game of chess in India. Founded in 1951, the federation is affiliated to Fédération Internationale des Échecs (FIDE), the world body for chess. The AICF has produced Viswanathan Anand, Nihal Sarin, Pentala Harikrishna, Rameshbabu Praggnanandhaa and Vidit Santosh Gujrathi and many other grandmasters. The organisation is also in charge of managing women's chess in India. AICF's current headquarter is in New Delhi. History The All India Chess Federation was registered in 12 December 1958 and was registered as a Society under the Societies Registration act of 1860. Maligaon
The headquarters of Northeast Frontier Railway and Northeast Frontier Railway Stadium is situated here. The place is also known for goddess Durga pandals.
