The 1997 All-Ireland Senior Camogie Championship—known as the Foras na Gaeilge, Bórd na Gaeilge All-Ireland Senior Camogie Championship for sponsorship reasons—was the high point of the 1997 season. The championship was won by Cork GAA#Camogie, Cork who defeated Galway GAA#Camogie, Galway by a four-point margin in the final. Linda Mellerick
Linda Mellerick is a former camogie player selected on the camogie team of the century in 2004, and winner of All Ireland medals in 1992, 1993, 1995, 1997, 1998 and 2002. Background & club career Though born in Tipperary, Linda’s family moved to live in Cork when she was three. She started her Camogie career with the Brian Dillons club before moving to Glen Rovers, where she won ten Cork County Championships and three All Ireland Club Championships. Inter-county In an inter-county career with Cork which spanned 21 years she won one Minor, one junior and six senior All Ireland titles, ten National Camogie League titles and four Gael Linn Cup inter-provincial titles. Glen Rovers GAA
Glen Rovers is a Cork (city), Cork-based Gaelic Athletic Association club based in Blackpool, Cork, Ireland. The club was founded in 1916 and is primarily concerned with the game of hurling. They were Cork senior hurling champions in 2015 and 2016, having won their first title in 26 years in 2015. They retained the championship in 2016, when they beat Erin's Own in the final. Barryroe GAA
Barryoe GAA club is a Gaelic football and Hurling club in the parish of Barryroe in County Cork, Ireland. It draws its players from the villages of Courtmacsherry, Butlerstown, Lislevane and surrounding areas. The club participates in the south west Cork (Carbery) division of Cork and operates at Intermediate A level in hurling and Junior A in football. Páirc Uí Rinn (), also known as Páirc Chríostóir Uí Rinn, is a Gaelic Athletic Association stadium located between Ballinlough and Ballintemple in Cork.
