Aljoša Buha
Aljoša Buha ( sr-cyr, Аљоша Буха; 4 January 1962 – 18 September 1986) was a Bosnian musician best known for having played in two bands: Kongres and Crvena Jabuka. Early life Aljoša Buha was born in Ljubljana to a Herzegovinian Serb father Krsto Buha from the village of Balabani near Gacko and Slovenian mother Vida Tribušon from Nova Gorica. His parents met and married in Ljubljana where his father had arrived for metallurgy studies at the University of Ljubljana. Shortly after Aljoša's birth, the family moved to Zenica where his father got a job at Zenica Ironworks. Growing up in Zenica's Pišće neighbourhood, Buha was musically inclined from a young age. The Academy of Performing Arts in Sarajevo () is a faculty within the University of Sarajevo in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, dedicated to the performing arts. History The Academy of Performing Arts in Sarajevo was officially opened in 1981 with the inaugural Department of Acting. This was followed by the opening of the Department of Directing in 1989, the Department of Dramaturgy in 1994 and the Department of Production in 2010. An important segment of the academy's practice is its cooperation with the Open Stage "Obala", a prominent Sarajevo theater, where students present their works along with professional actors, directors and writers. Dražen Ričl
Dražen Ričl (12 March 1962 – 1 October 1986) was a Bosnian rock musician and comedian, best known as the first lead vocalist of popular Sarajevo-based rock band Crvena jabuka. Biography Ričl was born in Sarajevo to Czech father Ferdinand Ritchel and Bosniak mother Elvira Deak. He grew up in Sarajevo's Višnjik neighborhood, where he was known by the nicknames Para and Zijo. Upon finishing musical high school, he started studying journalism at the University of Sarajevo, where he met future fellow musician Branko Đurić. Soon, Zijo abandoned his studies to start playing in his first band ''Ozbiljno pitanje'' (''Serious Question'') in 1981. The band also featured Zlatko Arslanagić, future co-founder of Crvena Jabuka. The bass guitar, electric bass or simply bass (), is the lowest-pitched member of the string family. ''Diskoton'' was a major record label in SFR Yugoslavia, based in Sarajevo, Socialist Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The company ceased to exist in 1992, with the outbreak of the War in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The studio was destroyed along with all master recordings Background Company History Diskoton was formally established in 1972 in Sarajevo at the instigation of Asim Haverić, then an employee of the record label Beograd Disk (later to become Jugodisk). He persuaded Jovo Beatović, manager of the city public utility company Park in Sarajevo, to organize a record production company within his enterprise. Record production began in 1973 and Diskoton operated as a subsidiary of Park until 1977, when it became an independent company. New Primitivism
New Primitivism (Serbo-Croatian: Novi primitivizam) was a subcultural movement established in Sarajevo, SR Bosnia-Herzegovina, SFR Yugoslavia in March 1983. It primarily used music, along with satire, sketch and surreal comedy on radio and television, as its form of expression. Its protagonists and followers called themselves the New Primitives. Functioning as a banner that summarizes and encompasses the work of two rock bands Zabranjeno Pušenje and Elvis J. Zabranjeno pušenje () is a Bosnian rock band formed in Sarajevo in 1980. The group's musical style primarily consists of a distinctive garage rock sound with folk influences, often featuring innovative production and complex storytelling. Jadranko "Dado" Džihan (born 24 May 1964), also credited as Dado Jehan, Waves and Patterns, is a composer, music producer and sound master from Bosnia and Herzegovina.
