Alive In Studio A
''Alive in Studio A'' is a heavy metal album released by Iron Maiden frontman Bruce Dickinson in 1995. The album does not include new songs but instead re-recordings of songs from Bruce's first two solo-albums ''Tattooed Millionaire'' and ''Balls to Picasso'' with his new band line-up. This line-up would record the next album, ''Skunkworks''. The first CD was recorded live at Metropolis Studios, London, while the second CD is composed of live-recordings at the Marquee Club with his new band. The idea was for a low-key release of these double albums, and, according to the booklet in the 2005 re-release, Bruce Dickinson was less than pleased when the record company tried to pass them off as new material. ''Alive In Studio A'' was originally meant as a live session to be played on a US radio station, however, this never took place. "Tattooed Millionaire" is the first single from Bruce Dickinson's debut solo album, ''Tattooed Millionaire''. It was released on 11 April 1990. "Tattooed Millionaire" reached number 18 on the UK charts. The promotional video was directed by Storm Thorgerson. According to ''Ultimate Classic Rock'', the song is about "celebrity tabloid rockers". "Shoot All the Clowns" is the second and last single from Bruce Dickinson's second solo album, ''Balls to Picasso'', released in August 1994. On the Anthology DVD interview, Dickinson revealed that the song was the last one completed for Balls to Picasso on the insistence of the record label. Due to the complicated production, the record label was skeptical of the album's success. Bruce made the song on the simple instruction that it was supposed to sound similar to Aerosmith. ''Balls to Picasso'' is the second solo album by Iron Maiden vocalist Bruce Dickinson, released in 1994. It is the first album in Dickinson's solo career that was released after he had officially left Iron Maiden (although he rejoined again in 1999). This record marked the beginning of Dickinson's collaborations with guitarist Roy Z, who would work on many of Dickinson's later albums including ''Accident of Birth'', '' The Chemical Wedding'' and ''Tyranny of Souls''. Stylistically it departs from ''Tattooed Millionaire'' but is still more traditional-sounding than the follow-up album ''Skunkworks'' released in 1996. ''Tattooed Millionaire'' is the first solo album by Iron Maiden vocalist Bruce Dickinson, released in 1990. The album project began when Dickinson was asked to record a song for '' A Nightmare on Elm Street 5: The Dream Child'', and so wrote " Bring Your Daughter... to the Slaughter". Collaborating with future Iron Maiden guitarist Janick Gers, Dickinson began creating a solo album which was fundamentally different from his works with Iron Maiden, with a hard rock sound that is less progressive.
