Balls To Picasso (album)
''Balls to Picasso'' is the second solo album by Iron Maiden vocalist Bruce Dickinson, released in 1994. It is the first album in Dickinson's solo career that was released after he had officially left Iron Maiden (although he rejoined again in 1999). This record marked the beginning of Dickinson's collaborations with guitarist Roy Z, who would work on many of Dickinson's later albums including ''Accident of Birth'', '' The Chemical Wedding'' and ''Tyranny of Souls''. Stylistically it departs from ''Tattooed Millionaire'' but is still more traditional-sounding than the follow-up album ''Skunkworks'' released in 1996. Iron Maiden are an English heavy metal band formed in Leyton, East London, in 1975 by bassist and primary songwriter Steve Harris. Tribe of Gypsies are a San Fernando Valley, California-based Latin rock group, best known for band leader/guitarist Roy Z who has produced, written for, and played with such well-known artists as Judas Priest, Rob Halford, Sepultura and Bruce Dickinson who has used various members of Tribe of Gypsies to record his solo albums starting with 1994's '' Balls to Picasso''. On the front cover, the album title is imposed upon the seal of the demon Astaroth. Disc 1 is a selection of songs from his previous solo albums, with the addition of two new songs, "Broken" and "Silver Wings", both of which were written by Dickinson and guitarist/producer Roy Z. Disc 2 contains rare songs, most of which have appeared as b-sides on singles. Keith Alan Olsen (May 12, 1945 – March 9, 2020) was an American record producer and sound engineer, who worked with Magnum, Rick Springfield, Fleetwood Mac, Ozzy Osbourne, the Grateful Dead, Whitesnake, Pat Benatar, Heart, Santana, Saga, Foreigner, Scorpions, Journey, The Babys, Emerson, Lake & Palmer, Joe Walsh, 38 Special, and Eric Burdon & the Animals, among others. Skin were a British hard rock band active during the 1990s who reformed in 2009, only to disband again in 2013. History Skin were formed in the early 1990s by ex- Jagged Edge members Myke Gray (born 12 May 1968, Fulham, London) and Andy Robbins (also formerly of Tokyo Blade) along with former Kooga vocalist Neville MacDonald (born in Ynysybwl, Pontypridd, Wales) and drummer Dicki Fliszar, formerly of Bruce Dickinson's touring band and band Vamp. It is the first and only studio album recorded with the musicians Dickinson put together for the tour supporting the album ''Balls to Picasso''. They disbanded by the end of 1996. ''Tattooed Millionaire'' is the first solo album by Iron Maiden vocalist Bruce Dickinson, released in 1990. The album project began when Dickinson was asked to record a song for '' A Nightmare on Elm Street 5: The Dream Child'', and so wrote " Bring Your Daughter... to the Slaughter". Collaborating with future Iron Maiden guitarist Janick Gers, Dickinson began creating a solo album which was fundamentally different from his works with Iron Maiden, with a hard rock sound that is less progressive. "Bring your Daughter..." wasn't included on the original release, as Iron Maiden planned to record an alternate version for their 1990 album ''No Prayer for the Dying'', which went on to become the band's only number one single on the UK Singles Chart to date. ''Tyranny of Souls'' is the sixth studio album released by Iron Maiden vocalist Bruce Dickinson on 23 May 2005. The cover art is one of the panels of Earthly Vanity and Divine Salvation, a work by renaissance artist Hans Memling. It is his first solo album since rejoining Iron Maiden in 1999 and his most recent studio album as a solo artist to date. The songwriting on the album was split between Roy Z and Dickinson. During composition, Roy sent recordings of riffs to Dickinson, who was on tour with Iron Maiden. Dickinson subsequently wrote lyrics and melodies. Roy also served as the album's producer and played all guitar parts as well as some supplemental bass guitar and piano parts. ''The Chemical Wedding'' is the fifth solo album by English heavy metal singer Bruce Dickinson, released on 15 September 1998 through Dickinson's own label Air Raid Records. The record draws some inspiration from the works of William Blake, featuring sung and spoken excerpts of his prophetic works and poetry (notably " And did those feet in ancient time" on the track "Jerusalem"), and with cover art from his painting '' The Ghost of a Flea'', although the name of the album and its title track derive from the Rosicrucian manifesto the ''Chymical Wedding of Christian Rosenkreutz''.
