Alireza Eftekhari
Ali Reza Eftekhari ( fa, علیرضا افتخاری; born March 30, 1958) is an Iranian vocalist of Iranian classical and popular music. He is one of the most popular singers in Iran and his works are among the best-selling works of Iranian music. This singer has released more than seventy music albums so far. He is known as the man of a thousand faces of Iranian music. He is one of the few artists that have gained the respect and admiration of classical music lovers everywhere. It is refreshing to see younger artists continue to present beautiful classical Iranian music to the younger generation. Career Alireza Eftekhari was born in 1958 in Isfahan. As a child, he studied with Tabatabai, a violinist. From the age of 12, he studied vocal lines with Taj Esfahani. The Vahdat Hall ( fa, تالار وحدت – ''Tālār e Vahdat'' means "Unity Hall"), formerly the Roudaki Hall ( fa, تالار رودکی – ''Tālār-e Rudaki''), is a performing arts complex in Tehran, Iran. Fajr International Music Festival ( fa, جشنوارهٔ موسیقی فجر) is Iran's most prestigious Music Festival founded in 1986. The festival is affiliated with UNESCO and includes national and international competition sections. Since its establishment, many musicians from several countries like Austria, Germany, France participated in the event. The festival have enjoyed a strong presence of Asian countries as well. The 22nd Fajr International Music Festival was held in January 2007. Iran's National Orchestra
Iran's National Orchestra ( fa, ارکستر ملی ایران) is a national orchestra of Iran, which was founded in 1998 under the conduction of Farhad Fakhreddini. The orchestra had been formed by Persian traditional instruments, strings and woodwind instruments. During its history, INO was focused on Persian composers compositions. In the Orchestra's debut concert at Roodaki Great Hall in Tehran, works by Ali Tajvidi, Farhad Fakhreddini and Hossein Alizadeh were performed and Mohammad Reza Shajarian was the singer. The Iran National Orchestra also performed outside of Iran, in Switzerland and Kuwait. The Orchestra was dissolved in October 2012, reportedly because of financial problems. Zayanderud
Zayanderud ( fa, Zāyanderud, script=Latn, from "fertile" or "life giver", and "river"), also spelled as ''Zayandeh-Rood'' or ''Zayanderood'', is the largest river of the Iranian Plateau in central Iran. Geography The Zayandeh starts in the Zard-Kuh subrange of the Zagros Mountains in Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Province. Mirza Taghi Khan-e Farahani ( fa, میرزا تقیخان فراهانی), better known as Amir Kabir (Persian: , 9 January 1807 – 10 January 1852), also known by the title of ''Amir-e Nezam'' or ''Amir Nezam'' (), was chief minister to Naser al-Din Shah Qajar ( Shah of Persia) for the first three years of his reign. Maryam Mirzakhani ( fa, مریم میرزاخانی, ; 12 May 1977 – 14 July 2017) was an Iranian mathematician and a professor of mathematics at Stanford University. Her research topics included Teichmüller theory, hyperbolic geometry, ergodic theory, and symplectic geometry. In 2005, as a result of her research, she was honored in ''Popular Science's'' fourth annual "Brilliant 10" in which she was acknowledged as one of the top 10 young minds who have pushed their fields in innovative directions. On 13 August 2014, Mirzakhani was honored with the Fields Medal, the most prestigious award in mathematics, becoming the first Iranian to be honored with the award and the first of only two women to date. Sohrab Sepehri ( fa, سهراب سپهری; October 7, 1928 – April 21, 1980) was a notable Iranian poet and painter. He is considered to be one of the five most famous Iranian poets who have practiced modern poetry alongside Nima Youshij, Ahmad Shamlou, Mehdi Akhavan-Sales, and Forough Farrokhzad. Sepehri's poems have been translated into several languages, including English, French, Spanish, Italian and Lithuanian. Biography Sohrab was born in Kashan, Iran on October 7, 1928. Baba Tahir
Baba Tahir or Baba Taher Oryan Hamadani ( fa, باباطاهر عریان همدانی) was an 11th-century Persian dervish poet from Hamadan, Iran who lived during the reign of Tugril of the Seljuk dynasty over Iran. This is almost all that is known of him as he lived a mysterious lifestyle. Although prefix "Baba" (roughly meaning 'The Wise' or 'The Respected') has been thought as part of his name in all known sources, his nickname "Oryan" ( meaning 'The Naked' ) did not appear until about 17th-century. The nickname was probably attributed to him because he seemed to lead a very spiritual and stoic lifestyle and thus was figuratively not clothed with worldly and material needs.
