Alilang Group
Alilang Group () is a Chinese pop music group, made up of four Korean Chinese members: Jin Zenan (金泽男, leader, born 10 October 1979), Jin Runji (金润吉), Zhang Jinyou (张晋佑) and Quan He (权赫), all of Jilin Province, China. The group's name comes from "Arirang" (spelled "Alilang" in Chinese Pinyin), a Korean folk song, popular not only in Korea, but also in China and Japan. Alilang Group started in 2002, and published their first CD, entitled "Alilang", in 2003. They are popular as a C-pop group among the Chinese young as well as among the Korean Chinese. The group has appeared in "CCTV New Year's Gala" several times, a great honor to any Chinese musicians. They have toured in both South and North Korea. In 2003, they toured in South Korea and published their CD there. In 2009, when they appeared in North Korea, 100,000 people came to the Pyongyang arena. Koreans In China
Koreans in China (), Korean Chinese (), Joseonjok, Chosŏnjok (), or Chaoxianzu (), are Chinese by nationality and are Koreans by ethnicity (with either full or partial Korean ancestry). A majority of the chaoxianzu are descendants of immigrants from Korean peninsula from recent immigration. The Chinese government officially recognize them as one of the 56 ethnicities being part of the 55 ethnic minorities in China. They are the 13th largest minority group in China. Their total population was estimated at 1,923,842 and 1,830,929 according to the 2010 Chinese census. High levels of emigration to the Republic of Korea for better economic and financial opportunities, which has conversely reported a large increase of Korean Chinese in Korea, are the likely cause of the drop in China. Mandopop Musical Groups
Mandopop or Mandapop refers to Mandarin popular music. The genre has its origin in the jazz-influenced popular music of 1930s Shanghai known as Shidaiqu; with later influences coming from Japanese enka, Hong Kong's Cantopop, Taiwan's Hokkien pop, and in particular the Campus Song folk movement of the 1970s. 'Mandopop' may be used as a general term to describe popular songs performed in Mandarin. Though Mandopop predates Cantopop, the English term was coined around 1980 after "Cantopop" became a popular term for describing popular songs in Cantonese. Doraji (folk Song)
Doraji taryeong () is a Korean folk song which originated from Eunyul in Hwanghae Province. However, the currently sung version is classified as a Gyeonggi minyo (Gyeonggi Province folk song), as the rhythm and the melody have changed to acquire the characteristics of it. The song is sung with '' semachi'' (fast or ) jangdan (rhythmic structure), with occasional switch to '' jungmori'' () jangdan. C-pop
C-pop is an abbreviation for Chinese popular music (), a loosely defined musical genre by artists originating from mainland China,Hong Kong and Taiwan (the Greater China region). This also includes countries where Chinese languages are used by parts of the population, such as Singapore and Malaysia.
