Alien Project (musician)
Alien Project is the stage name of Israeli psychedelic trance DJ and producer Ari Linker. He has also collaborated with other musicians in the groups Alien vs. The Cat (with Space Cat), Crunchy Punch (with Jean Borelli), N.B.K. (with Christophe Drouillet), and Save the Robot (with Ido Liran). History Ari Linker first began performing in Goa in 1994. He has been invited back to perform in Goa as a live act or DJ every year since then. His first album as Alien Project was ''Midnight Sun'', released on Phonokol in 2001. Israeli trance musician Astrix collaborated on four tracks on the album. The album also featured appearances from Jean Borelli, Orion, and Celli Firmi. His second album, ''Aztechno Dream'', was released on TIP.World in 2002. It featured trance musician Riktam (of GMS) on three of the tracks. Ramat Hasharon
Ramat HaSharon ( he, רָמַת הַשָּׁרוֹן, ''lit.'' '' Sharon Heights'', ar, رمات هشارون) is a city located on Israel's central coastal strip in the south of the Sharon region, bordering Tel Aviv to the south, Hod HaSharon to the east, and Herzliya and Kibbutz Glil Yam to the north. Psychedelic Trance, Psytrance or Psy is a subgenre of trance music characterized by arrangements of rhythms and layered melodies created by high tempo riffs. The genre offers variety in terms of mood, tempo, and style. Some examples include full on, darkpsy, forest, minimal (Zenonesque), hitech psy, progressive, suomi, psy-chill, psycore (fusion of psychedelic trance and hardcore), psybient (fusion of psychedelic trance and ambient), psybreaks, or "adapted" tracks from other music genres. Goa trance is an electronic dance music style that originated in the early 1990s in the Indian state of Goa. Astrix
Avi Shmailov (Hebrew: אבי שמיילוב) under his stage name Astrix, is an Israeli trance music DJ and producer specializing in the subgenre of progressive psychedelic trance. In 2006 Astrix reached #41 in DJMag's "Top 100 DJs" yearly rank along with a rise of several other Israeli musicians (the highest being Infected Mushroom at #9), marking a significant proportion of the Israeli electronic music scene. In 2007, Astrix reached #18 on the list. Early career Astrix was born in Georgia in the then USSR, to a Mountain Jewish family in the Caucasus and grew up in Tel Aviv, Israel. He began recording music under the name Astrix in 1997, sometimes misconceived to be taken from the Asterix comic books. GMS (music Group)
GMS (also known as the Growling Mad Scientists) were a Dutch psychedelic trance duo which has attained significant popularity, beginning in the early 1990s. Formed by Shajahan Matkin (also known as Riktam) and Joseph Quinteros (also known as Bansi) in the city of Amsterdam, located in the west of The Netherlands, the duo has attracted a large international fanbase. GMS founded Spun Records in 1999, the first psychedelic trance label in the United States and Ibiza, Spain. In 2008, GMS left Spun Records to further concentrate on their own careers and had created in 2009 a new label to release all of their music from their own various bands called Starbox Music. Raja Ram (musician)
Raja Ram (born Ronald Rothfield, 18 December 1940) is an Australian-born musician and the owner of the United Kingdom record label Tip World. He was a founding member of the psychedelic rock band Quintessence in the late 1960s and early 1970s, playing at the first two Glastonbury Fayres in 1970 and 1971. He later found success in the psychedelic trance scene and continues to headline at large events worldwide. Early life Ram left Australia in the 1950s to begin the hippie trail. He returned to Australia later and studied flute at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music. Ram travelled to New York in 1965 to study jazz, leading to his career as a psychedelic musician. Ram retired from Quintessence in the 1970s for personal reasons and became an envelope salesman. Ram later returned to his music career, finding success in the emerging genre of electronic music. Total Eclipse (band)
Total Eclipse is a psychedelic trance band founded in 1992 by three French musicians: Stéphane Holweck, Serge Souque and Loïc Vanpoucke. Stéphane Holweck is now the sole member. Their first tracks appeared on a few compilations in 1993, and by 1994 they had a few singles out with Dragonfly Records and T.I.P. Records. Their first full-length album, '' Delta Aquarids'', and the double CD '' Violent Relaxation'' were released in 1995 and 1996 respectively, both on Blue Room Released. They also had a single song, "Psychedelic Terrorist", on the album Tsunami, released in 1999.
