Alice Skye is an Australian singer and songwriter. She is a Wergaia woman from Horsham. In 2017, she was the Triple J Unearthed National Indigenous Winner. Wergaia
The Wergaia or Werrigia people are an Aboriginal Australian group in the Mallee and Wimmera regions of north-Western Victoria, made up of a number of clans. The people were also known as the Maligundidj (in the Wotjobaluk language) which means the people belonging to the ''mali'' (mallee) eucalypt bushland which covers much of their territory. Before European settlement in the nineteenth century, the Wergaia peoples occupied the area that included Lake Hindmarsh, Lake Albacutya, Pine Plains Lake, Lake Werringrin, Lake Coorong, Warracknabeal, Beulah, Hopetoun, Dimboola, Ouyen, Yanac, Hattah Lakes and the Wimmera River. Language The Wergaia language was a dialect of Wemba-Wemba, a member of the Kulinic branch of Pama–Nyungan. Natalie Dawn Knutsen Conte (born October 29, 1986), known by her stage name Nataly Dawn, is an American singer-songwriter and musician. She is one half of the duo Pomplamoose with her husband Jack Conte and has released four studio albums and four EPs as of June 2022, in addition to numerous collaborations with other artists. Early life Born October 29, 1986, in Sacramento, California as the daughter of missionaries, she spent her childhood in Europe and attended schools in France and Belgium before she returned to the United States to study art and French literature at Stanford University. The 2021 Music Victoria Awards were the 16th Annual Music Victoria Awards. The ceremony took place on 9 December 2021 at the Melbourne Recital Centre.
