Alia Amirali
Alia Amirali (Urdu: عالیہ امیرعلی; born November 5, 1984) is a Pakistani left-wing political worker and academician working on issues of gender and political participation. She has been working as Deputy General Secretary for the Punjab National Unit of Awami Workers Party in Pakistan (2016–2019). She is also a lecturer in Gender Studies at Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad. She is a PhD candidate at London School of Economics, Gender Studies department. Early life and education Amirali is daughter of Pakistani activist and physicist, Pervez Hoodbhoy and Hajra Ahmed, niece of renowned philosopher and intellectual Eqbal Ahmed. Amirali was born in Islamabad and got early schooling from Khaldunia High School, Islamabad. She did her Bachelor's in Liberal Arts from Hampshire College, USA in 2006. Balochistan
Balochistan ( ; bal, بلۏچستان; also romanised as Baluchistan and Baluchestan) is a historical region in Western and South Asia, located in the Iranian plateau's far southeast and bordering the Indian Plate and the Arabian Sea coastline. This arid region of desert and mountains is primarily populated by ethnic Baloch people. The Balochistan region is split between three countries: Iran, Afghanistan and Pakistan. National Students Federation
The National Students Federation Pakistan (NSF) is a left-wing students federation in Pakistan. In the late 1960s, NSF adopted the political line of Marxism–Leninism and Mao Tse-tung Thought Its predecessor, the DSF (Democratic Students Federation), had links to the Communist Party of Pakistan. It had power base among progressive students from Dow Medical and DJ Science Colleges. It dominated student politics in Karachi, the then Federal Capital of the country. In a convention at the national level of students, held in Khaliqdina Hall, Karachi(1953), the DSF renamed itself to NSF (National Student Federation in the late 1960s), laying claim to being a national movement and hoping to spread the Student Revolution to the whole country. Eqbal Ahmed
Eqbal Ahmad (1933 – 11 May 1999) was a Pakistani political scientist, writer and Academia, academic known for his Anti-war activist, anti-war activism, his support for resistance movements globally and academic contributions to the study of Near East. Born in Bihar, British India, Ahmad migrated to Pakistan as a child and went on to study economics at the Forman Christian College. After graduating, he worked briefly as an Pakistan Army, army officer and was wounded in the First Kashmir War in 1948. He participated in the Algerian War, Algerian Revolution, then studied the Vietnam War and U.S. imperialism, becoming an early opponent of the war upon his return to the U.S. in the mid-1960s.
