Alhaji K. Frimpong
Alhaji Kwabena Frimpong (died 18 October 2005) was a Ghanaian highlife singer. He is known for his hit song "Kyenkyen Bi Adi M'awu", performed by K. Frimpong And His Cubano Fiestas. In the 1970s, he recorded with two different bands, with overlapping personnel. One was the Vis-A-Vis band, based in Kumasi and led by Isaac Yeboah. Their album ''Obi Agye Me Dofo'' was released in Ghana on the Probisco record label, and was later reissued on the Makossa International label. The second band was the Cubano Fiestas, who recorded the album ''K. Frimpong and His Cubano Fiestas'' in 1977 for the Ofori Brothers label. The album contained the track "Kyenkyen Bi Adi M'awu" for which Frimpong is best known. He recorded at least two other albums with the Cubano Fiestas: ''Me Da A Onnda'' (1980), and ''K Frimpong'', both released in Ghana on the Polydor label. Alhaji
Hajji ( ar, الحجّي; sometimes spelled Hadji, Haji, Alhaji, Al-Hadj, Al-Haj or El-Hajj) is an honorific title which is given to a Muslim who has successfully completed the Hajj to Mecca. It is also often used to refer to an elder, since it can take years to accumulate the wealth to fund the travel (and did particularly before the advent of mass air travel), and in many Muslim societies to a respected man as an honorific title. The title is placed before a person's name; for example, Saif Gani becomes ''Hajji Saif Gani''. Highlife
Highlife is a music genre that started in present-day Ghana in the 19th century, during its Gold Coast (British colony), history as a colony of the British Empire and through its trade routes in coastal areas. It describes multiple local fusions of African metre and western jazz melodies. It uses the melodic and main rhythmic structures of traditional Akan people, Akan music, Kpanlogo Music of the Ga people, but is typically played with Western instruments. Highlife is characterized by jazzy Horn section, horns and multiple guitars which lead the band and its use of the two-finger plucking Guitar picking, guitar style that is typical of African music. Kumasi
Kumasi (historically spelled Comassie or Coomassie, usually spelled Kumase in Twi) is a city in the Ashanti Region, and is among the largest metropolitan areas in Ghana. Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital
The Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital also known as GEE for it heavy equipments (KATH) in Kumasi, Ashanti Region, Ghana, is the second-largest hospital in Ghana, and the only tertiary health institution in the Ashanti Region. History It was the main referral hospital for the Ashanti, Brong Ahafo and northern regions of Ghana until then Tamale Regional Hospital was upgraded to Teaching hospital hence handling referrals from Northern, Upper East and Upper West regions thereby easing some pressure on it. The hospital was built in 1954, as the Kumasi Central Hospital. It was later named Komfo Anokye Hospital after Okomfo Anokye, a legendary fetish priest of the Ashanti. Cabum, born Frank Kwame Gyasi- Frimpong on 15 June 1985, to Ghanaian highlife musician Alhaji Kwame Frimpong (popularly known as Alhaji K. Frimpong) and Joyce Asabia Frimpong, is a Ghanaian rapper from Kumasi.
