Alfredo Poledrini
Alfredo Poledrini (30 June 1914 – 23 April 1980) was an Italian prelate of the Catholic Church who worked in the diplomatic service of the Holy See. He became an archbishop in 1965 and served as Apostolic Nuncio to several countries in Africa. Biography Alfredo Poledrini was born on 30 June 1914 in Genoa, Italy. He was ordained a priest on 27 March 1937. To prepare for a diplomatic career he entered the Pontifical Ecclesiastical Academy in 1945. On 27 October 1965, Pope Paul VI named him titular archbishop of Vazari and Apostolic Pro-Nuncio to Zambia. The Holy See ( lat, Sancta Sedes, ; it, Santa Sede ), also called the See of Rome, Petrine See or Apostolic See, is the jurisdiction of the Pope in his role as the bishop of Rome. An apostolic nuncio ( la, nuntius apostolicus; also known as a papal nuncio or simply as a nuncio) is an ecclesiastical diplomat, serving as an envoy or a permanent diplomatic representative of the Holy See to a state or to an international organization. Amleto Cicognani
Amleto Giovanni Cicognani (24 February 1883 – 17 December 1973) was an Italian Cardinal of the Roman Catholic Church. He served as Vatican Secretary of State from 1961 to 1969, and Dean of the College of Cardinals from 1972 until his death. Cicognani was elevated to the cardinalate in 1958. His brother, Gaetano Cicognani, was also a cardinal. To date they are the last pair of brothers to serve together in the College of Cardinals.
