Alfred Wiłkomirski
Alfred Wiłkomirski (3 January 1873 - 31 July 1950) was a Polish violinist and pedagogue. Born in Azov, Wiłkomirski studied under Jan Hřímalý at the Moscow Conservatory before embarking on a teaching career. Moving to Poland in 1920, he held positions in Kalisz (1920–26) and in Łódź Łódź is a city in central Poland and a former industrial centre. Azov (, ), previously known as Azak ( Turki/ Kypchak: ), is a town in Rostov Oblast, Russia, situated on the Don River just from the Sea of Azov, which derives its name from the town. Kazimierz Wiłkomirski; (September 1, 1900, Moscow – March 7, 1995, Warsaw) was a Polish cellist, composer and conductor. Son of Alfred Wiłkomirski, brother of Maria Wiłkomirska, Wanda Wiłkomirska and violinist Michael Wilkomirski. Wanda Wiłkomirska
Wanda Wiłkomirska (11 January 1929 – 1 May 2018) was a Polish violinist and academic teacher. She was known for both the classical repertoire and for her interpretation of 20th-century music, having received two Order of Merit of the Republic of Poland, Polish State Awards for promoting Music of Poland, Polish music to the world as well as other awards for her contribution to music. She gave world premiere performances of numerous contemporary works, including music by Tadeusz Baird and Krzysztof Penderecki. Wiłkomirska performed on a violin crafted by Pietro Guarneri in 1734 in Venice. She taught at the music academies of Mannheim and Sydney. Maria Wiłkomirska
Maria Wiłkomirska (3 April 1904 - 19 June 1995) was a Polish pianist. Born in Moscow, Wiłkomirska was the daughter of violinist Alfred Wiłkomirski; her half-sister Wanda was a violinist, her half-brother Józef was a conductor, and her brother Kazimierz was a cellist. From 1913 until 1917 she studied at the Moscow Conservatory under and Boleslav Yavorsky; in 1920 she moved to Warsaw where she became a pupil of Józef Turczyński. She held positions as an instructor in Kalisz, Gdańsk, and Łódź, and in 1951 began teaching at the Chopin University of Music in Warsaw.
