Alfonso Azpiri
Alfonso Azpiri Mejía (17 January 1947 − August 18, 2017) was a Spanish comic book artist, whose work was mainly of the adult variety. Biography Azpiri was born in Madrid. His early work was published in the 1970s and was mainly aimed at the Italian market which then welcomed stories containing a mixture of horror, sex and nudity. Azpiri's work, drawn in a comical style, featured amply breasted women getting involved with werewolves, mummies, vampires and the Frankenstein monster. His work has been translated and published in a number of magazines, including '' Heavy Metal'' and ''Penthouse Comix''. His style is easily recognisable, especially his lavishly elegant and sensual, pouting females. In the '' Star Wars'' space opera franchise, a droid is a fictional robot possessing some degree of artificial intelligence''.'' The term is a clipped form of " android", a word originally reserved for robots designed to look and act like a human. The word "android" itself stems from the New Latin word "androīdēs", meaning "manlike", itself from the Ancient Greek ''ἀνδρος'' (andrós) (genitive of ''ἀνήρ'' (anḗr), "man (adult male)" or "human being") + ''-ειδής'' (-eidḗs), itself from ''εἶδος'' (eîdos, "form, image, shape, appearance, look"). Writer and director George Lucas first used the term "droid" in the second draft script of ''Star Wars,'' completed 28 January 1975. However, the word does have a precedent: science fiction writer Mari Wolf used the word in her story "Robots of the World! Arise!" in 1952. ''Tornado'' was a short-lived weekly British comic magazine published for 22 issues by IPC Magazines between March 1979 and August 1979. After the cancellations of the '' Starlord'' and ''Action'' titles, IPC launched ''Tornado'' as a way to use up stories already commissioned for the other titles. Originally to be called ''Heroes'', like ''Action'' it was a mixed title featuring war, detective, horror, and science fiction stories. Opera Soft
Opera Soft was a Spanish computer game developer of the Golden Era of Spanish Software of the 1980s. It released many games for the ZX Spectrum, Amstrad CPC and similar computers in the mid-1980s, but its games were not as popular on the PC. Founded in 1986, the company obtained success with its title '' Livingstone, supongo'' (''Livingstone, I Presume'') in the same year. The game is based on the 19th-century explorer Dr. Livingstone. Within Spain, one of their most popular games was ''La Abadía del Crimen'' (''The Abbey of Crime''), based on Umberto Eco's novel ''The Name of the Rose''. ''Mot'' is a French children's animated television series about a purple monster. Based on the children's comics by Alfonso Azpiri, Mot is from the Monstrous Organicus Telluricus family. The series follows Mot's adventures with his human friend Leo. Mot has the ability to teleport himself from one universe to another with ease, but not always with great accuracy. In order to voyage through time and space, Mot simply has to find a door opening onto a tiny space equipped with a movable panel, and he arrives unexpectedly in his friend Leo's room via the wardrobe door.
