Alfaz Ahmed
Alfaz Ahmed ( bn, আলফাজ আহমদ; born: 7 July 1973) is a retired Bangladeshi footballer who played for the Bangladesh national football team from 1995 to 2008. He is seen as one of the best strikers to ever play for Bangladesh. He won three international trophies while playing for his country. Alfaz also scored the winning goal of the 1999 South Asian Games final, against Nepal. He played for Bangladesh 13 years, scoring 11 goals along the way. Alfaz also has 109 domestic league goals, including numerous goals in AFC club competitions. Although he played as a striker for the national team, Alfaz was often used as a playmaking forward at domestic level. Alfaz is currently the assistant manager of the Dhaka Mohammedan. The South Asian Football Federation Championship, commonly known as SAFF Championship (previously known as ''South Asian Association of Regional Co-operation Gold Cup'' and ''South Asian Football Federation Gold Cup''), is the main international association football competition of the men's national football teams governed by the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF). Mohun Bagan Athletic Club is an Indian professional sports club based in Kolkata, West Bengal. Founded in 1889, its football section is one of the oldest in India and Asia. The club is most notable for its victory over East Yorkshire Regiment in the 1911 IFA Shield final. Federation Cup (Bangladesh)
Federation Cup, also known as Bangladesh Federation Cup, is Bangladesh's premier cup competition in men's association football. The competition started in 1980 and is run by the Bangladesh Football Federation which is responsible for all types of competitive matches in the country. The teams from the country's premier league and other clubs compete in the tournament while occasionally Indian sides were invited in the past. Most of the matches are played in the country's main football venue Bangabandhu National Stadium. The winner of the tournament earn the slot of playing qualifying round of AFC Cup. Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited Dhaka, founded in 1936 at Dhaka, is one of the oldest and one of the most popular football clubs in Bangladesh, with a support base in all parts of the country. Dhaka Senior Division Football League, also referred as First Division Football League, is the third tier of football league in Bangladesh. Until 2006, it was the top-tier league of the country. It was established in 1948 as Dhaka League, while Bangladesh was still under Pakistani control. Upon the creation of the new national top-tier professional league B.
