Alfa GTV Cup
The Alfa GTV Cup was a mono-make race series offered by Alfa Romeo for a selected customers. Participants could race against each other on a track with the 3.0-litre GTV race car. After a sports car driving lessons, participants were ready to manage ten races in the mono-make race programme. Overview As the Alfa Romeo GTV was created to reestablish the sporty character of the marque, Alfa Romeo has created a series of events for their customers and racing enthusiasts with a GTV race car. With a cost of more than five million Italian lira, a participant could spend two weekends on the race track and participate in the mono-make race series. First there was a driving course at the Safe Driving Centre, conducted by Andrea de Adamich at the Varano Circuit, in order to teach racing techniques and safety. Alfa Romeo Automobiles S.p.A. () is an Italian luxury car manufacturer and a subsidiary of Stellantis. The company was founded on 24 June 1910, in Milan, Italy. Alfa Romeo GTV & Spider
The Alfa Romeo GTV and the Alfa Romeo Spider (Type 916) were sports cars produced by the Italian manufacturer Alfa Romeo from 1993 to 2004. The GTV is a 2+2 coupé, and the Spider is a two-seater roadster version of the GTV. Around 39,000 Spiders and 41,700 GTVs were built. The GTV's name (Gran Turismo Veloce— en, Fast Grand Touring) placed it as the successor to the long-discontinued Alfetta GTV coupé, whereas the Spider was effectively the replacement for the then 30-year-old 105-series Giulia Spider. The GTV was available until the launch of the Brera in 2005, while the Spider lasted another year until the launch of its Brera-based successor in 2006. Andrea Lodovico de Adamich (born 3 October 1941) is a former racing driver from Italy. He participated in 34 World Championship Formula One Grands Prix, making his debut on 1 January 1968. He scored a total of six championship points. He also participated in numerous non-championship Formula One races. Career De Adamich was born in Trieste, from a family originally from Croatia. The Italian Superturismo Championship (Campionato Italiano Superturismo) is Italy's national motorsport series for touring cars. It was established in 1987 and its drivers' title has been held by such notable drivers as Le Mans winner Emanuele Pirro and two-time Champ Car champion Alex Zanardi. In relation to international motorsport governed by the FIA, Group N refers to regulations providing 'standard' large scale series production vehicles for competition. They are limited in terms of modifications permitted to the standard specification by the manufacturer making them a cost effective method of production vehicle motorsport. Often referred to as the "showroom class", Group N contrasts with Group A which has greater freedom to modify and tune the cars to be more suitable to racing. Mugello Circuit () is a race track in Scarperia e San Piero, Florence, Tuscany, Italy. The circuit length is . It has 15 turns and a long straight. The circuit stadium stands have a capacity of 50,000. Grand Prix motorcycle racing host an annual event at the circuit (for MotoGP and smaller classes).
