Alexis Bowater
Alexis Bowater is a Devon-born British newsreader (first known for her career as a news presenter on Westcountry Live), journalist and women's campaigner. In response to her stalking experience whilst main anchor at ITV Westcountry, Alexis became the Chief Executive of the Network for Surviving Stalking and then campaigned for the laws to changed in the UK and Europe. After stepping down as CEO, she setup her own communications and consultancy agency Bowater Communications. Over the years, Alexis has been also been involved with community interest companies and projects including Beach Schools South West, The Venus Awards, South West Women in Business and from May 2022, the West Country Women Awards. Alexis Bowater was appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in the 2022 Birthday Honours for services to the safety and equality of women. Order Of The British Empire
The Most Excellent Order of the British Empire is a British order of chivalry, rewarding contributions to the arts and sciences, work with charitable and welfare organisations, and public service outside the civil service. Exeter () is a city in Devon, South West England. It is situated on the River Exe, approximately northeast of Plymouth and southwest of Bristol. Looe (; kw, Logh, ) is a coastal town and civil parish in south-east Cornwall, England, with a population of 5,280 at the 2011 census.
