Alexander Slafkovský
Alexander Slafkovský (born 11 March 1983) is a Slovak slalom canoeist who has competed at the international level since 1998. Slafkovský won 15 medals at the ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships with ten golds (C1 team: 2003, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2017, 2018, 2019), five silvers (C1: 2013, 2017, 2021, 2022, C1 team: 2022) and one bronze (C1 team: 2021). At the European Championships he won a total of 21 medals (12 golds, 6 silvers and 3 bronzes). Liptovský Mikuláš
Liptovský Mikuláš (; until 1952 ''Liptovský Svätý Mikuláš'', german: Liptau-Sankt-Nikolaus; hu, Liptószentmiklós) is a town in northern Slovakia, on the Váh River, about from Bratislava. It lies in the Liptov region, in Liptov Basin near the Low Tatra and Tatra mountains. 2021 ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships – Men's C1
The Men's C1 at the 2021 ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships took place on 23 and 26 September 2021 at the Čunovo Water Sports Centre in Bratislava. It was the 41st edition of the event, and 53 athletes from 27 nations competed. The event was won by Václav Chaloupka of the Czech Republic, competing in his first World Championships. Slovak Alexander Slafkovský won silver, matching his position from 2013 and 2017, whilst 2018 World Champion Franz Anton won bronze. Background Reigning World Champion Cédric Joly did not have the opportunity to defend his title won in La Seu d'Urgell in 2019, after he missed out on domestic selection. The 2016 European Canoe Slalom Championships took place in Liptovský Mikuláš, Slovakia under the auspices of the European Canoe Association (ECA). It was the 17th edition of the competition and Liptovský Mikuláš hosted the event for the second time after previously hosting it in 2007. 2013 European Canoe Slalom Championships
The 2013 European Canoe Slalom Championships took place in Kraków, Poland between June 6 and 9, 2013 under the auspices of the European Canoe Association (ECA) at the Kraków-Kolna Canoe Slalom Course. It was the 14th edition and it was the second time that Kraków hosted the event after hosting it in 2008. The competitions were held over two days instead of three due to floods which forced the organizers to shorten the program. The qualification for individual events consisted of a single run instead of two and the semifinal runs were skipped. Therefore, the competitions were decided in two runs instead of four. The women's C1 team event was canceled completely. The 2012 European Canoe Slalom Championships took place in Augsburg, Germany between May 9 and 13, 2012 under the auspices of the European Canoe Association (ECA). It was the 13th edition and Augsburg hosted this event for the second time after its inaugural edition in 1996. The races were held on the Eiskanal which also hosted the 1972 Summer Olympics when canoe slalom made its first appearance at the Olympics. 2002 European Canoe Slalom Championships
The 2002 European Canoe Slalom Championships took place in Bratislava, Slovakia between 12 and 14 July 2002 under the auspices of the European Canoe Association (ECA). It was the 4th edition of the senior championships. It was also the 1st edition of the Under 23 European Championships, which in the following years were held together with the Junior European Championships. The team events were held as an open event for both senior and U23 athletes. Countries were allowed to enter two teams in each team event.
