Alexander Krauß
Alexander Gerd Krauß (born 8 December 1975 in Erlabrunn, Germany) is a German politician ( Christian Democratic Union (CDU)) who served as a member of the German Bundestag from 2017 to 2021. From 2004 until 2017 he was a member of the Landtag of the Free State of Saxony. Early life and career Krauß was born in the former GDR and attended the school in Erlabrunn (Ore Mountains). In 1990 he moved to grammar school (Gymnasium) in Schwarzenberg (Ore Mountains) where he did his A-levels. After the military service and his studies in Political Science, Communication and Media Science as well as Protestant Theology in Leipzig and Prague, he worked initially as a freelance journalist. Since 2002 Krauß has worked in the field of Public Relations of the Zwickau "Stadtmission". Bundestag
The Bundestag (, "Federal Diet") is the German federal parliament. It is the only federal representative body that is directly elected by the German people. It is comparable to the United States House of Representatives or the House of Commons of the United Kingdom. 2009 Saxony State Election
The 2009 Saxony state election was held on 30 August 2009 to elect the members of the 5th Landtag of Saxony. The incumbent grand coalition of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) and Social Democratic Party (SPD) led by Minister-President Stanislaw Tillich retained its majority. 2017 German Federal Election
Federal elections were held in Germany on 24 September 2017 to elect the members of the 19th Bundestag. At stake were at least 598 seats in the Bundestag, as well as 111 overhang and leveling seats determined thereafter. The Christian Democratic Union of Germany and the Christian Social Union of Bavaria ( CDU/CSU), led by incumbent chancellor Angela Merkel, won the highest percentage of the vote with 33%, though it suffered a large swing against it of more than 8%.
