Alexander Eduardovich Getmanski (russian: Александр Эдуардович Гетманский; born October 6, 1977, Tula) is a Russian draughts player ( International draughts and draughts-64), author of books on draughts. He took third place at Draughts-64 World Championship in 2003, also he took second place at Draughts World Championship 2017 in rapid and third place in blitz in 2016 year. Tula, Russia
Tula ( rus, Тула, p=ˈtulə) is the largest city and the administrative center of Tula Oblast in Russia, located south of Moscow. Tula is located in the northern Central Russian Upland on the banks of the Upa River, a tributary of the Oka. 2017 World Draughts Championship
The 2017 World Draughts Championship at the international draughts held in Tallinn, Estonia. 79 players, who qualified through the championships of Europe, Asia, Africa, North and South America competed in the tournament, which ran from October 1, 2017, to October 16, 2017. The Fédération Mondiale du Jeu de Dames (FMJD, World Draughts Federation) is the international body uniting national draughts federations. It was founded in 1947 by four Federations: France, the Netherlands, Belgium and Switzerland. Members Currently, the FMJD has more than 70 national federation members in 2021. 2021 World Draughts Championship
The 2021 World Draughts Championship at the international draughts took place from June 28 to July 14, 2021 in Tallinn, Estonia under the auspices International Draughts Federation (FMJD). Forty players competed in the tournament, which was played in a COVID bubble at Hotel Viru. In the semi-final all players were divided into four groups. The best three players from each semi-final group went to the final. The championship was played in a round-robin system. The main referee was IR Frank Teer (Netherlands). The winning prize for the tournament was 20,000 euros. At the same hotel, the 2021 Women's World Draughts Championship took place simultaneously. Alexander Schwarzman from Russia won his fifth title. Rules and regulations The games were played in the official FMJD time rate of the Fischer system, with 1 hour and 20 minutes for the game plus 1 minute per move. The 2013 World Draughts Championship was an international draughts tournament held in Ufa, Russia. 40 players from 24 countries who qualified through the championships of Europe, Asia, Africa, North and South America competed in the tournament, which began on June 2, 2013 and ended on June 20, 2013. The Draughts World Championship is the world championship in international draughts and is held every two years. In the even year following the tournament, the World Title match takes place. The men's championship began in 1885 in France and since 1948 it's organised by the World Draughts Federation (FMJD). The men's championship has had winners from the Netherlands, Canada, the Soviet Union, Senegal, Latvia, and Russia. The current men's champion is Roel Boomstra. Since 1998, there is also a Draughts World Championship held with the blitz time control (5 minutes plus an increment of 5 seconds per move), and since 2014 also with the rapid time control (15 min + 5 sec per move).
