Alexander Ferguson (Indian Department)
Alexander Ferguson (February 23, 1860 – March 3, 1925) was a farmer and politician in Ontario, Canada. He represented Cardwell from 1906 to 1908 and Simcoe South from 1908 to 1919 in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario as a Conservative member. He was educated in Collingwood. Ferguson was elected to the Ontario assembly by acclamation in a 1906 by-election held after Edward Alfred Little resigned his seat. Edward Alfred Little (April 9, 1859 – February 23, 1934) was an Ontario farmer and political figure. He represented Cardwell in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario from 1894 to 1898 as a Conservative- Protestant Protective Association member and from 1898 to 1906 as a Conservative member. He was born in Canada West, the son of William Carruthers Little, and educated in Barrie. He served as deputy reeve for Innisfil Township and was a school trustee. Collingwood is a town in Simcoe County, Ontario, Canada. It is situated on Nottawasaga Bay at the southern point of Georgian Bay. Collingwood is well known as a tourist destination, for its skiing in the winter, and limestone caves along the Niagara Escarpment in the summer. History The land in the area was first inhabited by the Iroquoian-speaking Petun nation, which built a string of villages in the vicinity of the nearby Niagara Escarpment. They were driven from the region by the Iroquois in 1650 who withdrew from the region around 1700. European settlers and freed Black slaves arrived in the area in the 1840s, bringing with them their religion and culture. Schomberg (2021 population 2,656) is an unincorporated village in northwestern King, Ontario, Canada. It is located north of the Oak Ridges Moraine and south of the Holland River.
