Alex Semenets
Oleksander "Alex" Semenets (March 10, 1990 – late August 2020) was a Canadian professional soccer player who played as a midfielder. Early life Semenets moved from his native Ukraine to Canada in 1998, settling in Mississauga, Ontario. He attended Iona Catholic High School and played club soccer for the Oakville Blue Stars before joining the Vancouver Whitecaps residency program in 2007. Club career Semenets played with the Vancouver Whitecaps Residency squad in the USL Premier Development League season in 2008 and 2009, helping his team to the PDL playoffs in his debut season, before being called up to the senior Vancouver Whitecaps side following the conclusion of the 2009 PDL season. He made his first-team debut on July 25, 2010, in a match against the NSC Minnesota Stars, coming on as a substitute in the 80th minute. Canada Men's National Under-20 Soccer Team
The Canada U-20 men's national soccer team (also known as Canada Under-20s or Canada U-20s) represents Canada in international soccer at this age level. They are overseen by the Canadian Soccer Association, the governing body for soccer in Canada. It plays a large role in the development of Canadian soccer, and is considered to be the feeder team for the Canada men's national soccer team. The team has qualified for eight out of nineteen FIFA U-20 World Cups. Their best result came in 2003 where they reached the quarterfinals. The team also competes in the CONCACAF U-20 Championship, which they won in 1986 and 1996. Randy Edwini-Bonsu (born April 20, 1990) is a Canadian soccer player who last played for FC Edmonton in the Canadian Premier League. Club career Early career Edwini-Bonsu started playing soccer when his family immigrated from Ghana to Edmonton, Alberta in 2002. Gagandeep Dosanjh (born 1 November 1990) is a Canadian professional soccer player who plays as a midfielder. Club career Youth Born in Abbotsford, British Columbia to Pavinder and Gurpal Dosanjh, both Indian immigrants from Punjab. Dosanjh started his career in the USL PDL with the Abbotsford Rangers in 2007. He then joined the Whitecaps U-23 where he stayed until 2010. Philippe Davies (born December 12, 1990) is a Canadian retired soccer player. Career Youth and college Born in Longueuil, Quebec, Davies attended Collège Français in his hometown. He played for the under-15 and under-16 sides of Ligue de soccer élite du Québec team FC Select South Shore AAA from 2003 to 2005. Vancouver Whitecaps Football Club is a Canadian professional soccer team based in Vancouver. They compete in Major League Soccer (MLS) as a member club of the league's Western Conference. The MLS iteration of the club was established on March 18, 2009, and began play in 2011 as the 17th team to enter Major League Soccer while replacing the USSF Division 2 team of the same name in the city, making them a phoenix club and the third to carry the Whitecaps name.
