Alex Scally
Alex Kristian Scally (born July 15, 1982) is an American multi-instrumentalist and songwriter. He is known as the co-writer, guitarist and backing vocalist of the dream pop duo Beach House, with whom he has recorded eight studio albums. Early life Scally was born July 15, 1982 in Baltimore, Maryland, where he was raised. He graduated from Baltimore Polytechnic Institute in 2000, and from Oberlin College in 2004, where he studied geology and ran NCAA Division III cross-country. Upon graduation, he returned to Baltimore to work as a carpenter alongside his father. Career In 2004, Scally founded Beach House with Victoria Legrand in Baltimore. NCAA Division III
NCAA Division III (D-III) is a division of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) in the United States. D-III consists of athletic programs at colleges and universities that choose not to offer athletic scholarships to their student-athletes. The NCAA's first split was into two divisions, the University and College Divisions, in 1956, the College Division was formed for smaller schools that did not have the resources of the major athletic programs across the country. The College Division split again in 1973 when the NCAA went to its current naming convention: Division I, Division II, and Division III. Division III schools are not allowed to offer athletic scholarships, while D-II schools can.
