Alex Brunner (born 8 December 1973) is an Italian former footballer who played as a goalkeeper. He currently works as a goalkeeping coach. Football career Early career Brunner started his career at hometown club Triestina. After the club were relegated to Series C1 in the summer of 1991, Brunner gained his place in first team, making 5 appearances for the club in two Series C1 seasons. In the summer of 1993, he moved to Formia of Series C2, where he first became a regular. Foggia & Bologna Brunner joined U.S. Foggia of Serie A in 1994, starting his career as a backup keeper for several Serie A clubs. In his first season with the team, he just made 2 appearances, as second goalkeeper behind Francesco Mancini, but after the club suffered relegation, he became regular once again. 2002–03 Serie A
The 2002–03 Serie A (known as the Serie A TIM for sponsorship reasons) was the 101st season of top-tier Italian football, the 71st in a round-robin tournament. It was composed by 18 teams, for the 15th consecutive time from season 1988–89. The first two teams qualified directly to UEFA Champions League. Teams finishing in third and fourth position had to play Champions League qualifications. Teams finishing in fifth and sixth positions qualified to UEFA Cup (another spot was given to the winner of Coppa Italia). The bottom four teams were to be relegated in Serie B. Juventus won its 27th national title, with Internazionale placing second and Milan third. Serie C1
Lega Pro Prima Divisione was the third highest football (soccer), football league in Italy. It consisted of 33 teams, divided geographically into two divisions of 16 and 17 teams for group A and B respectively. Until 2008 it was known as Serie C1. Before the 1978–79 season there were only three leagues of professional football in Italy, the third being Serie C. In 1978, it was decided to split Serie C into Serie C1 and Serie C2. Serie C2, the fourth highest professional league in the Italian system, was also renamed in 2008 and was called Lega Pro Seconda Divisione. Paolo Castelli (born 3 January 1980) is an Italian footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Monza. He spent his most of his career in the Prima Divisione, seasons in the Seconda Divisione and seasons in Serie B. (3rd, 4th and 2nd highest division respectively).
