Alessandro Riggi
Alessandro Riggi (born November 30, 1993) is a Canadian professional soccer player who plays as a forward for Angkor Tiger in the Cambodian Premier League. Early career At age 14, Riggi joined the Vancouver Whitecaps FC Academy. A year later, after the Montreal Impact started their own youth program, he decided to join their program, as it was his hometown team. Riggi played with the Montreal Impact Academy in the Canadian Soccer League from 2010 to 2011. He was top scorer and team MVP in his two seasons, but was unable to secure a first-team deal. Club career Europe After being unable to secure a first-team deal with Montreal, he went to Europe at age 19. He went on trial with Sampdoria in Italy, before joining the Celta Vigo academy. In January 2013, he signed in Portugal with Atletico Reguengos and in Romania with CFR Cluj. Afterwards, he joined Trento Calcio in Italy. HFX Wanderers Football Club, commonly known as HFX Wanderers, and spoken as Halifax Wanderers, is a Canadian professional Association football, soccer club in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The 2010 Canadian Soccer League season (known as the Givova Canadian Soccer League for sponsorship reasons) was the 13th since its establishment where a total of 24 teams from Ontario and Quebec took part in the league. The season began on Saturday May 8, 2010, and ended on October 31. Brantford Galaxy SC won their first championship in their inaugural season with a 3–0 win over Hamilton Croatia in the CSL Championship Final at the Centennial Park Stadium in Toronto on October 31, 2010. 2021 Canadian Premier League Season
The 2021 Canadian Premier League season was the third season of the Canadian Premier League, the top level of Canadian soccer. Forge FC were defending champions, after defeating HFX Wanderers FC in the 2020 final. The season was planned to commence on May 22, the Victoria Day weekend, pending the approval of government authorities and the state of the COVID-19 pandemic in Canada. However, on May 14, it was announced that the start was to be pushed back to mid-June or early July. On June 5, the league committed to a full 28-match season, but that the season would begin in a single-site bubble at IG Field in Winnipeg, Manitoba, promoted as "The Kickoff", with each team playing eight matches between June 26 and July 24. Forge FC
Forge FC is a Canadian professional soccer club based in Hamilton, Ontario, that competes in the Canadian Premier League, the top tier of Canadian soccer. The club plays its home matches at Tim Hortons Field. Forge FC joined the CPL in 2019 as one of the league's seven inaugural teams. The Canadian Premier League (CPL or CanPL; french: Première ligue canadienne, links=no) is a professional men's Association football, soccer league in Canada. At the top of the Canadian soccer league system, it is the country's primary national soccer league competition.
