José Alesio da Silva (born 27 September 1968), commonly known as Alesio, is a retired Brazilian futsal player and coach. He is the former coach of Azerbaijan national futsal team and Araz Naxçivan. Player His playing career began in his native Brazil with Voltorantin Pernambuco, winning two state championships before a 1993 transfer to FC Barcelona Futsal. The Azerbaijan national futsal team is the national futsal team of Azerbaijan and is controlled by the Association of Football Federations of Azerbaijan. It represents Azerbaijan in international futsal competitions such as the FIFA Futsal World Cup and the European Championships. They are ranked 13th in the world, the highest-ranking team from Caucasus in the World Rankings. They are also ranked 7th in Europe on 10 August 2021. Araz Naxçıvan is a futsal club based in Nakhchivan City, Azerbaijan. The club is very dominant in Azeri futsal, as they won ten consecutive Premier League titles from 2004 to 2014. Araz is one of the strongest teams in Europe, having reached UEFA Futsal Cup semi finals two times. Futsal Coaches
Futsal is a football-based game played on a hard court smaller than a football pitch, and mainly indoors. It has similarities to five-a-side football and indoor football. Futsal is played between two teams of five players each, one of whom is the goalkeeper. Unlimited substitutions are permitted. Unlike some other forms of indoor soccer, it is played on a hard court surface marked by lines; walls or boards are not used. It is played with a smaller, harder, lower-bounce ball than football.
