Aleksandrs Solovjovs
Aleksandrs Solovjovs (born 25 February 1988) is a Latvian footballer, currently playing for RFS in the Latvian Higher League. Career As a youth player Solovjovs played for Skonto Riga, making his first first-team appearance in 2007. Despite being in the club's player list for the upcoming season, Solovjovs didn't even play a match for Skonto, as he was loaned out to Olimps for one season. He played 24 matches, netting 3 times. After the end of that season, in February 2008, it was announced that he was to undergo a trial with Zenit St. Petersburg reserves. Later it was said that Aleksandrs had left a good impression, but he wasn't offered a contract that time. In 2008, he left Riga anyway, signing with FK Ventspils on 1 September. He played 15 matches there, scoring 3 times. FC Daugava
FC Daugava was a Latvian football club, based at the Daugava Stadium, in the city of Daugavpils. They lastly played in the Latvian Second League in 2015. They were one of two clubs with the name ''Daugava'' and should not be confused with FK Daugava Rīga. In 2008, they won the Latvian Cup. In 2012, they won their first ever Latvian Higher League championship. History The club was founded in 1944. JFK Olimps
JFK Olimps was a Latvian football club, playing in the top division of Latvian football. The club was from the city of Riga. According to a study from January 2011, the club was the youngest team in Europe, with an average age of 19.02 years. History Olimps was founded in 2005 because there were only seven teams in the top division of the Latvian football league. It was made up of young (U-21) players from Skonto-2, Liepajas Metalurgs-2 and Ventspils-2. In the 2005 season they dropped from Virsliga. In 2006 they won 1. līga and returned to Virsliga. Despite finishing last in the 2007 Virslīga season, Olimps retained their place for 2008 thanks to the expansion of the league. Latvian Higher League or Virslīga is a professional football league and the top tier of association football in Latvia. The Latvia national under-21 football team represents the under-21s of Latvia and is controlled by the Latvian Football Federation, the governing body of football in Latvia.
