Aleksandr Domogarov
Aleksandr Yurievich Domogarov (russian: Алекса́ндр Ю́рьевич Домога́ров, born 12 July 1963) is a Soviet and Russian theater actor, TV presenter, Russian chanson singer, People's Artist of Russia (2007), actor known for playing historical roles. Biography Was born in Moscow, Russian SFSR, Soviet Union (now Russia). In 1984 played in the Russian film ''Inheritance''. He continued to play in the Mossovet Theatre. Since April 2005, Domogarov has been the lead in an open-ended run of Jekyll and Hyde at the Mossovet Theater. He then returned to ''Bandit Petersburg'' but this time playing a different role. In 2005 he starred in the film ''The One Who Lost the Sun''. He also starred in the TV series '' Woman's Romance''. In 2006 he played in the film '' The Wolfhound''. The Idiot (TV Series)
''The Idiot'' (russian: Идиот) is a costume drama TV series of Vladimir Bortko produced by Telekanal Rossiya in 2003, based on Fyodor Dostoevsky's 1869 novel of the same title. The series' script is very close to Dostoevsky's original text, and the series features well-known Russian actors. According to bonus materials included on the DVD, in order to improve authenticity, serious efforts were made to capture the spirit of the time, through proper way of speaking, and through very careful selection of costumes for the actors to wear. The series was branded by the novel's original pre-1920s orthography title "идіотъ" (in all caps) instead of the current "идиот" as one will find it on the bookshelves in Russia (to promote the atmosphere of the tsarist time when the film's plot takes place). This branded title "ИДІОТЪ" can be seen at the beginning of each part and on the cover of the DVD release. The series consists of 10 parts each approximately 50 minutes. ... ''With Fire and Sword'' ( pl, Ogniem i Mieczem; uk, Вогнем і Мечем, Vohnem i Mechem) is a 1999 Polish historical drama film directed by Jerzy Hoffman. The film is based on the novel ''With Fire and Sword'', the first part in The Trilogy of Henryk Sienkiewicz. At the time of its filming it was the most expensive Polish film ever made. Plot The story is set in Ukrainian lands of the Crown of the Kingdom of Poland during the Khmelnytsky Uprising of the mid-17th century. A Polish noble, Skrzetuski, and a Cossack otaman Bohun, both fall in love with the same woman, Helena. Their rivalry unfolds against the backdrop of a Cossack uprising led by Bohdan Khmelnytsky, aimed at reclaiming control of the land from the hands of the Polish nobles. Historic events form a framework for an action and character driven plot, and fictional characters mingle with historic ones. The movie, as the book, culminates with the savage siege of Zbarazh.
