''Pajarito Gómez'' is a 1965 Argentine comedy film directed by Rodolfo Kuhn. It was entered into the 15th Berlin International Film Festival. It was also selected as the Argentine entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 38th Academy Awards, but was not accepted as a nominee. The film is a satire of the promotional machine behind the Argentine pop stars of the 1960s. In 2000, it was included in the list of The 100 Greatest Films of Argentine Cinema at number 27, after a poll conducted by the Museo del Cine Pablo Ducrós Hicken. La Chacarita Cemetery
Cementerio de la Chacarita in Buenos Aires, Argentina, is known as the National Cemetery and is the largest in Argentina. Location The cemetery is in the barrio or district of Chacarita, in the western part of Buenos Aires. Its main entrance is on Avenida Guzmán. History The cemetery owes its existence to a yellow fever epidemic in 1871, when existing cemeteries were strained beyond capacity (the upscale La Recoleta Cemetery refused to allow the burial of victims of the epidemic). Students of the College of San Carlos appropriated in the adjoining Colegiales area for this purpose, but had their facility closed by the city in 1886. The New Chacarita Cemetery began to function in 1887 and was formally designated as such in 1896. ''El Tribuno'' is an Argentine newspaper and media group from Salta Province. Widely criticized for its pro- Peronist tilt, it is the only newspaper in Salta Province, and also publishes a Jujuy Province edition. Founded by Jaime and Ricardo Durán, its initial installations had belonged to ''La Provincia'', the leading daily in Salta for much of the early 20th century. Released on August 21, 1949, ''El Tribuno'' was allied to Peronism, and provided a political counterpart to the UCR-leaning ''El Cívico Intransigente''. Following President Perón's 1955 ouster, the paper was shuttered by the new regime, and sold at auction in 1957 to a consortium led by a local lawyer, Roberto Romero. María Rosa Gallo (December 20, 1925 – December 7, 2004) was an Argentine actress. Career Born of a Calabrian father and Spanish mother on 20 December 1925, Gallo studied at the ''Conservatorio Nacional de Música y Arte Dramático'' (National Conservatory of Music and Performing Arts) under Antonio Cunill Cabanellas. She graduated in 1943 with a gold medal and made her debut the same year in Eva Franco's ''El Carnaval del Diablo'' ("The Carnival of the Devil"). She received rave reviews and compared favorably to Margarita Xirgu. In 1947, following the election of Juan Perón, Gallo left Argentina for Chile and, eventually, Italy.
