Alec Mazo
Alec Mazo (born April 5, 1978) is an investor at DGA Capital. He became known for his participation in the Dancing with the Stars (U.S. TV series), American edition of the reality television series ''Dancing with the Stars (U.S. TV series), Dancing with the Stars'', the first season of which he won with partner Kelly Monaco. He participated in five seasons of the television show and four DWTS tours, produced live stage shows for casinos and executive produced a 70 city live stage tour in collaboration with Troika Entertainment (producer of Wicked, Phantom of the Opera, Cats, Annie). Early life Mazo was born just 50 kilometers from Chernobyl, Ukraine into a Jewish family. He has been dancing since he was 5 years old. Alejandro Lazo (born February 23) is a Cuban-American professional dancer, instructor, and choreographer based in Palm Beach, Florida. Lazo was the US International Rising Star Latin Champion in 1990 and went on through over twenty years of successful DanceSport competition. This cumulated in 1999 when he became the U.S. Nine-Dance Champion. He has appeared numerous times in television and theater in various capacities, and has also transitioned into the world of broadcast media as a spokesperson, guest host, and artist. Cha-cha-cha (dance)
The cha-cha-cha (also called cha-cha), is a dance of Cuban origin. It is danced to the music of the same name introduced by the Cuban composer and violinist Enrique Jorrin in the early 1950s. This rhythm was developed from the danzón-mambo. The name of the dance is an onomatopoeia derived from the shuffling sound of the dancers' feet when they dance two consecutive quick steps (correctly, on the fourth count of each measure) that characterize the dance. In the early 1950s, Enrique Jorrín worked as a violinist and composer with the charanga group Orquesta América. The group performed at dance halls in Havana where they played danzón, danzonete, and danzon-mambo for dance-oriented crowds.
