Albert Reeves Law (24 December 1929 – 17 May 1970) was an Australian rules footballer who played for the Essendon Football Club in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Law won a VFL reserves premiership for Essendon in 1952 before returning to his old side Moe in the Latrobe Valley Football League. He later coached Moe's reserves and then seniors, leading the team to a senior premiership in 1967. Yallourn
Yallourn, Victoria was a company town in Victoria (Australia), Victoria, Australia built between the 1920s and 1950s to house employees of the State Electricity Commission of Victoria, who operated the nearby Yallourn Power Station, Victoria, Yallourn Power Station complex. However, expansion of the adjacent open-pit mining, open-cut lignite, brown coal mine led to the closure and removal of the town in the 1980s. Whilst the township no longer exists, at the , the adjacent region classified as Yallourn had a population of 251. Design The town was planned by A.R. Moe ( ) is a town in the Latrobe Valley in the Gippsland region of Victoria, Australia. It is approximately east of the central business district of Melbourne, due south of the peak of Mount Baw Baw in the Great Dividing Range and features views of the Baw Baw Ranges to the north and Strzelecki Ranges to the south. The Moe Football Netball Club, nicknamed the ''Lions'', is an Australian rules football and netball club based at Ted Summerton Reserve in the town of Moe, Victoria. The club teams currently compete in the Gippsland Football League. Club history There was a meeting at Semmen's Moe Hotel in April, 1889 to form a local football club, with Mr. A A McPhee elected as President, R J Martin - Secretary and C W J Coleman as Treasurer. Australian football, also called Australian rules football or Aussie rules, or more simply football or footy, is a contact sport played between two teams of 18 players on an oval field, often a modified cricket ground. The Essendon Football Club, nicknamed the Bombers, is a professional Australian rules football club. The club plays in the Australian Football League (AFL), the game's premier competition. Australian Football League
The Australian Football League (AFL) is the only fully professional competition of Australian rules football. The State Electricity Commission of Victoria (SECV, ECV or SEC) is a government-owned electricity supplier in Victoria, Australia. It was set up in 1918, and by 1972 it was the sole agency in the state for electricity generation, transmission, distribution and supply. Control of the SECV was by a Board of Commissioners appointed by the Victorian Government. After 1993, the SECV was disaggregated into generation, transmission and distribution companies, which were further split and then privatised in the mid to late 1990s. However, electricity supply agreements with the Portland and Point Henry aluminium smelters were retained by SECV, which continued as their electricity supplier.
