Albion Heights Junior Middle School
Claireville (sometimes misspelled as Clairville) is a neighbourhood and former hamlet in the city of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It is located in the northwest corner of Toronto, in the former city of Etobicoke. Today Claireville is almost wholly industrial/commercial. History The original hamlet was established in 1850 at the five-point intersection of Albion Road, Indian Line (later incorporated into Highway 50 and Highway 427), and Steeles Avenue. It was built on a land owned by Jean du Petit Pont de la Haye (1799-1872), a French teacher at Upper Canada College. He developed the community on his estate which he named after his daughter Claire Elizabeth (later Berthon b. 1831-d. 1903). BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir Toronto
The BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in Etobicoke, Toronto, Ontario, Canada is a traditional Hindu place of worship that was built by the BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha. The BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha, which is headed by Mahant Swami Maharaj, is a global spiritual organization within the Swaminarayan branch of Hinduism. The mandir was built in 18 months and consists of 24,000 pieces of hand-carved Italian carrara marble, Turkish limestone and Indian pink stone. The mandir is the largest of its kind in Canada and was constructed according to guidelines outlined in ancient Hindu scriptures. The grounds spread over 18 acres and in addition to the mandir, include a haveli and the Heritage Museum. The mandir is open daily to visitors and for worship. Malton is a neighbourhood in the northeastern part of the city of Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, located to the northwest of Toronto. Malton is bounded by Highway 427 to the east, the Brampton city limits (a Canadian National Railway (CN) rail line) to the north, Airport Road to the west, and a second CN line and Toronto Pearson International Airport to the south. Claireville, Brampton
Claireville is an unincorporated community in Toronto, and Brampton, Ontario, Canada. It is bounded by Finch Avenue to the west and south, Albion Road to the east, and Steeles Avenue to the North. The former hamlet of Ebenezer, Brampton is found within Clairville. The name Claireville originates from a nearby historical village located in Toronto, however it is now mainly associated with the Claireville Conservation Area prominent in the region, which is one of the largest natural regions in the Greater Toronto Area. Until the early 2000s the region was largely dominated by agricultural lands with small pockets of industrial and estate residential areas. However, subdivisions are currently being developed throughout the area north of Queen Street East. The Claireville Conservation Area is a suburban conservation area located on the border of Peel Region and Toronto in Ontario, Canada. The major part of the area is located in Brampton. The park is a 343 hectare (848 acre) parcel of conservation land located on the west branch of the Humber River. It is one of the largest tracts of land owned by the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (TRCA). Claireville contains significant natural and cultural heritage features, and has recreation, tourism, and educational facilities and programs. History The Area was acquired in 1957 to construct a flood control dam and reservoir after the destruction caused by Hurricane Hazel.
