The Alberta Open is a golf tournament that is held in Alberta, Canada. It was an important event on the Canadian Tour PGA Tour Canada, commonly referred to as the Canadian Tour, is a men's professional golf tour headquartered in Toronto, Ontario. The United States based PGA Tour took over operation of the tour on November 1, 2012, at which time it was renamed PG ... and its predecessors until 1999 when it endured a brief hiatus after losing its main sponsors. It returned as an event on the provincial circuit in 2002. Although tournament organisers, Alberta Golf, state that the Alberta Open was first played in 1935, the origins of the tournament can be traced back further, with an open championship being introduced to the Alberta Golf Association provincial tournament week in around 1912. Alberta
Alberta ( ) is one of the thirteen provinces and territories of Canada. It is part of Western Canada and is one of the three prairie provinces. Alberta is bordered by British Columbia to the west, Saskatchewan to the east, the Northwest Territories (NWT) to the north, and the U.S. state of Montana to the south. Ray Freeman (golfer)
Raymond Freeman FRS (6 January 1932 – 1 May 2022) was a British chemist and professor at Jesus College, Cambridge who made important contributions to NMR spectroscopy. Education Freeman was educated at Nottingham High School where he won an Open Scholarship to Lincoln College, Oxford in December 1949 and (at the instigation of Lincoln College) deferred his admission to Oxford to complete his military service in the Royal Air Force as a radar instructor, reaching the rank of acting corporal, un-paid. In October 1951 he returned to Oxford and began his studies in Chemistry under the tutorship of Rex Richards, going on to do research in Rex's group on NMR of the less-common nuclei (in particular 59Co) and earning his Master of Arts and Doctor of Philosophy degrees. Kelly Murray
Kelly Murray is a Canadian professional ice hockey defender, currently playing with SDE Hockey in the SDHL. Career From 2012 to 2014, Murray played for Cornell University, putting up 12 points in 37 NCAA games. After missing a significant number of games due to injuries and the introduction of a new rule allowing players to join USports without sitting out for a year, she left Cornell to join the University of British Columbia. She would play for the team until 2017, serving as an assistant captain for the team and putting up 52 points in 80 USports games. She was named to the 2017 USports women's all-star team. Rick Todd (born October 3, 1962) is a Canadian professional golfer who played on the PGA Tour, Nationwide Tour, Asian Tour, Japan Golf Tour and the Canadian Tour. Todd was born in Toronto, Ontario. He played college golf at the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP). He was second team All-American in 1986, third team in 1985 and honorable mention in 1984 and made the All- WAC first team four years in a row.
