Albert Meyer (date of birth unknown) was a Swiss footballer who played as goalkeeper for FC Basel in the early 1900s. Meyer joined Basel's first team for their 1908–09 season. He played his first game with the team in the home game in the Landhof on 14 February 1909 as Basel were defeated 1–2 by La Chaux-de-Fonds. 1908–09 FC Basel Season
The FC Basel 1908–09 season was their sixteenth season since the club was formed. The club's chairman was Ernst-Alfred Thalmann, it was his seventh presidential term. FC Basel played their home games in the Landhof. Overview Daniel Hug, who had been team captain for many years, left the club and transferred to Genoa CFC as professional. The Landhof was a sports stadium in the district Basel-Wettstein in Kleinbasel, Basel. It was the former and first home stadium of FC Basel. It is mentioned for the first time in a chronicle in the second half of the 18th century as a ''nice summer house with beautiful property''. The best known owner of the manor was , a member of the Merian family. He was Mayor of Basel and Landammann of Switzerland (highest office at the time). In 1892 the granddaughter of Merian-Iselin sold the Landhof to a certain Katharina Ehrler-Wittich.
