Albert J. Wilke (December 31, 1895 – July 29, 1977) was a member of the Michigan Senate. Biography Wilke was born on December 31, 1895, in Port Washington, Wisconsin. He died on July 29, 1977, in Iron Mountain, Michigan. Career Wilke was a member of the Senate from 1949 to 1950. Previously, he was Register of Deeds of Dickinson County, Michigan, from 1935 to 1946 and a delegate to the 1944 Democratic National Convention that nominated Franklin D. Roosevelt for a historic fourth term as President of the United States. Michigan's 31st Senate District
Michigan's 31st Senate district is one of 38 districts in the Michigan Senate. The 31st district was created by the 1850 Michigan Constitution, as the 1835 constitution only permitted a maximum of eight senate districts. It has been represented by Republican Roger Victory since 2023, succeeding fellow Republican Kevin Daley. Geography District 31 encompasses parts of Allegan and Ottawa counties. 2011 Apportionment Plan District 31, as dictated by the 2011 Apportionment Plan, covered all of Bay, Lapeer, and Tuscola Counties along Saginaw Bay, including the communities of Bay City, Essexville, Caro, Vassar, Lapeer, Imlay City, Almont, Bangor Township, Monitor Township, and Hampton Township. Port Washington, Wisconsin
Port Washington is the county seat of Ozaukee County in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. Located on Lake Michigan's western shore east of Interstate 43, the community is a suburb in the Milwaukee metropolitan area 27 miles north of the City of Milwaukee. The city's artificial harbor at the mouth of Sauk Creek was dredged in the 1870s and was a commercial port until the early 2000s. The population was 11,250 at the 2010 census. When French explorers arrived in the area in the 17th century, they found a Native American village at the mouth of Sauk Creek—the present location of historic downtown Port Washington. Iron Mountain is a city in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 7,518 at the 2020 census, down from 7,624 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Dickinson County, in the state's Upper Peninsula. Iron Mountain was named for the valuable iron ore found in the vicinity. The Michigan Senate is the upper house of the Michigan Legislature. Along with the Michigan House of Representatives, it composes the state legislature, which has powers, roles and duties defined by Article IV of the Michigan Constitution, adopted in 1963. Dickinson County is a county in the Upper peninsula of the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2020 census, the population was 25,947. The county seat is Iron Mountain. Dickinson is Michigan's newest county, formed in 1891 from parts of Marquette, Menominee, and Iron counties. It was named for Donald M.
