Albert Carlo Iversen
Albert Carlo Iversen (28 September 1895 – 29 June 1944) was a member of the Danish resistance executed by the German occupying power. Biography Iversen was born in Markedsgade 12, Randers on 28 September 1895 to bracket-smith Albert Sophus Henrik Iversen and 33-year-old wife Alberta Christensen and baptized in Randers St. Martin's church on the 22nd Sunday after Trinity the same year. In addition to being a member of the Hvidsten group Iversen was also a veterinarian. The group helped the British Special Operations Executive parachute weapons and supplies into Denmark for distribution to the resistance. In March 1944, the Gestapo made an "incredible number of arrests" including in the region of Randers, where a number of members of the Hvidsten group were arrested. A parish register in an ecclesiastical parish is a handwritten volume, normally kept in the parish church in which certain details of religious ceremonies marking major events such as baptisms (together with the dates and names of the parents), marriages (with the names of the partners), children, and burials (that had taken place within the parish) are recorded. Along with these vital details, church goods, the parish's response to briefs, and notes on various happenings in the parish were also recorded. Bjarne Henriksen (born 18 January 1959) is a Danish film and television actor. Biography Henriksen was born in Såderup, Funen in 1959. Ryvangen Memorial Park ( da, Mindelunden i Ryvangen) is a memorial park in Ryvangen officially inaugurated on 5 May 1950 to commemorate fallen members of the Danish resistance to the German occupation of Denmark during World War II. The location in ''Ryvangen'', which means "rye field", was acquired in 1893 by the army for a barracks and exercise field. On 29 August 1943, when the Danish cooperation with Germany broke down the German occupying forces seized the army and naval facilities in all of Denmark including Ryvangen. While the German army used the barracks for themselves, part of the exercise field was used as an execution and burial site for members of the Danish resistance. The execution site consisted of three wooden poles to which the condemned were tied and executed by firing squad.
