Alba Parietti
Alba Parietti (born 2 July 1961) is an Italian television presenter, television personality, showgirl, actress and former singer. Early life Parietti was born on 2 July 1961 in Turin, Piedmont, Italy, daughter of Francesco, a Piedmontese partisan originally from the Langhe then a chemist, whose nom de guerre was Naviga and Grazia Dipietromaria, painter and writer. She has been named after Alba where the partisans instaurated the Republic of Alba in 1944. She began her career in 1977 with an appearance in the theatrical play, ''The Importance of Being Earnest'', by Oscar Wilde. Although she did appear on television as early as 1975, her first role was in a major theatrical film in 1983 in ''Sapore di Mare'' (American version entitled ''Time for Loving''). Parietti has since performed in many films, including the 1991 comedy film ', as Aurora. The Sanremo Music Festival 1992 was the 42nd annual Sanremo Music Festival, held at the Teatro Ariston in Sanremo, province of Imperia between 26 and 29 February 1992 and broadcast by Rai 1. The show was presented by Pippo Baudo, assisted by Milly Carlucci, Brigitte Nielsen and Alba Parietti. ''Mai dire Gol'' was an Italian football television program of featuring Gialappa's Band, which was broadcast on Italia 1 from 18 November 1990 to 25 February 2001. The program was, at the beginning, the footballing version of Gialappa's Band's ''Mai dire Banzai'', a show centered around the Japanese show ''Takeshi's Castle'', as well as the "successor" of ''Mai dire Mundial'', a program which showcased previous World Cup games' commentary (the program was aired a few months prior to the release of ''Mai dire Gol'', between May and June 1990). Telegatto (a composition of ''television'' and ''gatto'', meaning "cat", after the trophy, which is a little statue representing a cat), was an Italian television award first conceived in 1971 following the contest Gran Premio internazionale dello Spettacolo, though the first award ceremony wasn't held until 1984. It was sponsored by the weekly magazine ''TV Sorrisi e Canzoni'' and broadcast on Canale 5. The prize was a golden cat statue with the network's initials on its face. It was inspired by a cartoon from the television series ''Super Classifica Show'', a cult show in the 1980s and early 1990s. The award ceremony was cancelled in 2009.
