Alasay District
The Alasay District (Alah Say) is situated in the eastern part of Kapisa Province, Afghanistan. It borders Tagab District (Kapisa Province) to the south and east, Nejrab District to the north and Laghman Province to the east. The population is 38,642 (2015). The district center is Alasay, located in its southwestern part. Security and operations From approximately 2006 until March 2009 the area was considered insurgent controlled. Kapisa Province
Kapisa (Pashto/Dari: ) is the smallest of Afghanistan's thirty-four provinces and is located in the north-east of the country. It has an estimated population of 496,840 people and an area of , making it the most densely populated province apart after Kabul Province. It borders Panjshir Province to the north, Laghman Province to the east, Kabul Province to the south and Parwan Province to the west. Mahmud-i-Raqi is the provincial capital, while the most populous city and district of Kapisa is Nijrab. Tagab District (Kapisa Province)
The Tagab District (from Pashto تګاب ولسوالۍ, "lone stream", fa, ولسوالی تگاب) is situated in the eastern part of Kapisa Province, Afghanistan. It borders Parvan Province to the West, Mahmud Raqi and Nijrab districts to the North, Alasay District to the East and Kabul Province to the South-East. The population is 71,700 (2006) with Pashtun being the majority and the Pashai a minority. The district center is the village of ''"Tamir" (تعمیر)'' in Dari, located in the western part of the district. Villages Tagab district is 40 kms away from the Province center Mahmud Raqi. Nijrāb (Pashto/Persian: نجراب) is a city with five valleys in Kapisa Province, Afghanistan. It is located at at 1,613 m altitude. There are a medical clinic, schools and radio station in the District. Nijrab is the most populous city of Kapisa, while Nijrab District, with a population of 114,726 (2015), is also the most populous district of Kapisa. Laghman Province
Laghman (Dari: ) is one of the 34 provinces of Afghanistan, located in the eastern part of the country. It has a population of about 502,148, which is multi-ethnic and mostly a rural society. Laghman hosts a large number of historical landmarks, minarets, monuments, and other cultural relics that are manifestation of its old history and culture. The city of Mihtarlam serves as the capital of the province. In some historical texts the name is written as "Lamghan" or as "Lamghanat". In 2021, the Taliban gained control of the province during the 2021 Taliban offensive. Etymology Laghman or Lamghan is originally named after Lamech (Mether Lam Baba), the father of Noah. Alasay
The village of Alasay (Alah Say) is the center of Alasay District in Kapisa Province, Afghanistan. It is located on at 1672 m altitude. The Battle of Alasay, codenamed Operation Dinner Out, was a military operation in Alasay which was carried out by French troops and the Afghan National Army (ANA) between the 14th and 23 March 2009. GTIA Kapisa
The ''Groupement tactique interarmes de Kapisa'' (GTIA Kapisa, "joint tactical group of Kapisa"), also called Task Force Korrigan, was a battalion-sized unit of the French Army, based in Kapisa Province, in Afghanistan. It operated in the framework of the French forces in Afghanistan.
