Alana Patience
Alana Louise Patience (born 21 November 1980) is an Australian ballroom dancer and twice winner of Channel 7's ''Dancing with the Stars''. Career Patience studied acting at the Australian Academy of Dramatic Art (AADA), now known as the Australian Institute of Music – Dramatic Arts (AIMDA); however, she would take a break when she joined the Australian version of ''Dancing with the Stars'', but she later returned and graduated in 2005. In 2010, Alana—together with '' Better Homes and Gardens'' carpenter Rob Palmer—won season 10 of ''Dancing with the Stars'', and she won again in 2011 with Celebrity chef Manu Feildel. Alana has also danced with music journalist Molly Meldrum, Tom Waterhouse, ex- Collingwood footballer Brodie Holland, and radio personality Brendan Jones. The fourteenth season of ''Dancing with the Stars'' premiered on 30 September 2014. Daniel McPherson had returned to host the season, alongside Edwina Bartholomew. Todd McKenney and Helen Richey returned as judges, alongside Kym Johnson and Adam Garcia. The show received significant promotion using Nathaniel Willemse's song "Live Louder" in the use of its television commercials throughout early September. Vera Ellen Wang (; born June 27, 1949) is an American fashion designer. Early life Vera Ellen Wang was born June 27, 1949 in New York City to Chinese parents who emigrated to the United States in the mid-1940s. Her mother, Florence Wu (Wu Chifang), worked as a translator for the United Nations, while her father, Cheng Ching Wang (Wang Chengqing), a graduate of Yanjing University and MIT, owned a medicine company. Wang has one brother, Kenneth. Wang began figure skating at the age of eight, training under Peter Dunfield and Sonya Klopfer in Denver during the summers and with the Skating Club of New York during the rest of the year. ''Dirty Dancing'' is a 1987 American romantic drama dance film written by Eleanor Bergstein, produced by Linda Gottlieb, and directed by Emile Ardolino. Starring Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey, it tells the story of Frances "Baby" Houseman, a young woman who falls in love with dance instructor Johnny Castle (Swayze) at a vacation resort. The film was based on screenwriter Bergstein's own childhood. Burn the Floor is a live dance show which has performed around the world, including on Broadway (Manhattan), Broadway in New York City and the West End of London, West End in London. Since 1997, Burn the Floor has performed in over 130 countries worldwide. The show has also featured several alumni of various international versions of ''Strictly Come Dancing'' and ''So You Think You Can Dance''. Brendan Jones (born 3 April 1968) is an Australian radio presenter, actor, media personality and motorcycling enthusiast. Career Brendan Jones began working in radio on the community radio station 2BCR Bankstown for six months.
