Allan Williams
Allan Richard Williams (21 February 1930 – 30 December 2016) was a British businessman and promoter who was the original booking agent and first manager of the Beatles. He personally drove the van to take the young band to Hamburg, Germany, in 1960, where they gained the vital show business experience that led to their emergence on the world stage. Williams was also a promoter and agent of a number of other Liverpool rock acts, helping stoke the Merseybeat boom of the early 1960s. Alan Stephen Williams, SM (born 15 March 1951) is an English Roman Catholic prelate and 7th Bishop of Brentwood. He is a member of the Marist Order. Career Born in Lancashire in 1951, Alan Williams trained for the priesthood at Allen Hall before which he obtained a Degree in Psychology from Durham University, followed by a PhD in Psychology from London University. He later earned a degree in Theology from the University of Cambridge, and a master's degree in Education from Hull University. He made his final vows with Society of Mary (Marists) in 1981 and was ordained priest on the 30 April 1983 at St Anne’s, Whitechapel. Alan Williams FRS (25 May 1945 – 9 April 1992) was an Australian immunologist noted for his work on the identification and characterization of cell surface receptors that defined different classes of lymphocytes. Education Williams studied agricultural science at Melbourne University in Australia. From there, he went on to perform his graduate work with William Elliott on the topic of avian erythropoiesis. Career and research Following his graduate work he moved to the department of Biochemistry at the University of Oxford in the UK to perform post-doctoral studies with Professor Rodney Porter. Alan Williams (born November 4, 1969) is an American football coach and former player who is the defensive coordinator for the Chicago Bears of the National Football League (NFL). College Between 1988 and 1991, Williams played running back at William & Mary, where he was a teammate of future Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin. Williams finished his playing career at William & Mary with 1,220 rushing yards and 15 rushing touchdowns, while he totaled 131 receptions for 1,331 yards with 7 scores. As a senior, he led the team in receptions (57) and receiving yards (598). Coaching career Williams was an assistant coach from 1992-95 for Norview High School, where he also coached track and field. Alan John Williams (born 21 April 1954) is a British sprint canoer who competed from the late 1970s to the mid-1980s. He won two medals at the ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships with a gold (K-2 10000 m: 1983) and a bronze (K-4 10000 m: 1981). Williams was also a part of the army, based in Maidstone. Alan Emlyn Williams (28 August 1935 – 21 April 2020) was an ex-foreign correspondent, novelist and writer of thrillers.
