Alan Powell (born May 3, 1985) is an American singer and actor, known for his portrayal of Franklin Weaver in the 2014 film, ''Where Hope Grows'' and Mike McQuigg in the third season of the ABC thriller '' Quantico''. Biography Alan Powell was born on May 3, 1985, in Nashville, Tennessee, US. In 2009, he made his acting debut in the 2009 film, ''Charlie & Boots''. Following on from his first role, Powell won other roles on a variety of TV shows and films including ''Nashville'', '' The Song'', ''Caged No More'' and ''Christmas in the Smokies''. Powell started the Christian band Anthem Lights in 2007, but left in 2016 to pursue an acting career. Alan Powell is a British musician. In 1964 Alan joined the Manchester R&B band Ivans Meads who released their first single "The Sins of a Family" for EMI in October 1965, followed by "We'll Talk About It Tomorrow" in September 1966. The band split in 1967. His first notable appearances were with Chicken Shack, appearing on the 1974 live album ''Goodbye'', and Vinegar Joe ("Proud To Be a Honky Woman"). He continued his friendship with Robert Palmer from Vinegar Joe co-writing "Gotta Get a Grip on You, Part 2" (from ''Some People Can Do What They Like'' (1976)), "The Silver Gun" (from ''Pride'' (1983)) "Jealous" released as a single from the album ''Secrets'' and "Life in Detail" also released as a single, (from the soundtrack to '' Pretty Woman'' (1990)). Alan "AP" Powell is an entrepreneur, consultant and philanthropist. Early life Powell was born December 26 in Louisville, Kentucky, the son of Alice Marion Johnson of Louisville, Kentucky and Tillman Powell of Winona, Mississippi. His mother, Alice, held master's degrees in speech and hearing pathology and behavioral therapy from Indiana University and Spalding University. His father, Tillman, owned Target Construction Company in Indianapolis, Indiana that helped build the Indiana State Museum and Historical Site. Powell has two sisters Allegra and Judy and one brother Darrell. His parents are deceased. Powell graduated from Suda E. Alan Walter Powell (7 January 1936 – 25 November 2020) was a historian and author of Northern Territory history. Career Alan Powell was the Dean of the Arts Faculty at the Northern Territory University, now Charles Darwin University, and later Emeritus Professor of History and Political Science at CDU. He was the editor of the ''Journal of Northern Territory History''. He also edited publications for the Historical Society of the Northern Territory. In 2013 he was made a fellow of the Federation of Australian Historical Societies. Alan Tinsley Powell (born November 10, 1951) is an American politician who has served in the Georgia House of Representatives since 1991. He was originally elected as a Democrat, but switched to a Republican in 2010, citing his conservative views. Tenure He supported the Election Integrity Act of 2021, a Republican-supported law to restrict voting rights in Georgia. Among its many provisions, it would restrict where ballot drop boxes can be located and when they can be accessed, require photo identification for absentee voting, shift back the deadline to request an absentee ballot, limit early voting hours, and prevent anyone other than poll workers from giving food and water to voters standing in lines. Most controversially, it would restrict early voting on Sundays, when Black churches traditionally run "Souls to the Polls" get-out-the-vote efforts.
