Alan Cleland
Alan George Cleland Quiñonez (born 19 June 2002) is a Mexican surfer. He won a gold medal at the 2023 ISA World Surfing Games and is qualified to compete at the 2024 Summer Olympics. Early life Cleland was born in the beachside town of , Colima, Mexico, to a Mexican mother and an American father. His father, Alan Cleland Sr., was a pro surfer from the San Diego area who moved to Boca de Pascuales and married a local woman. Alan Jr. did not begin learning English until he was six years old, and he attended a public primary school before switching to a home school curriculum. Cleland began surfing at a young age in his hometown, which is known for its rough waters, though he soon moved to California to further develop his talent. Bathsheba, Barbados
Bathsheba is the main fishing village in the parish of Saint Joseph with some 5,000 inhabitants on the east coastline of Barbados. The town has a number of quaint churches; Saint Joseph Anglican Church was built on Horse Hill in the town as early as 1640 but was rebuilt in 1839 following a hurricane in 1831. Little Saint Joseph chapel was built nearby in 1837 but was restored and dedicated to Saint Aiden in 1904 following a landslide. The 2022 World Surf League is the 45th season of all iterations of the tour circuit for professional surfers. Billabong Pipe Masters will be the first round of the tour. For the second time, the season will end at Lower Trestles, in San Clemente, USA, with the top five seeded men and women from the season going head to head to determine the champion at the WSL Finals. The 2023 World Surf League is the 46th season of all iterations of the tour circuit for professional surfers. Billabong Pipe Masters will be the first round of the tour. Jordan Michael "Jordy" Smith (born 11 February 1988) is a South African professional surfer, competing on the World championship tour surfing (WCT). In 2007 Smith won surfing's World Qualifying Series, the second-tier tour which leads to qualification for the World championship tour (WCT) surfing. Jordy Smith won both the 2010 and 2011 Billabong J-Bay competitions in South Africa. He has also won 2014 and 2016 Hurley Pro at trestles California . In 2013 he won the Rio Pro in Brazil. Surfing At The 2024 Summer Olympics – Qualification
This article details the qualifying phase for surfing at the 2024 Summer Olympics. The competition at these Games will comprise a total of 48 surfers coming from their respective NOCs with a maximum of two to three per gender. All athletes must undergo a qualifying pathway to earn a spot for the Games through three successive editions of the ISA World Surfing Games, the World Surf League Championship Tour, and the Pan American Games.
