State Route 91 (SR 91) is a state highway located entirely within Cullman County in the northern part of the U.S. state of Alabama. The southern terminus of the highway is at an intersection with SR 69 in Wilburn, a small unincorporated community in the southwestern part of the county that is also known as Bug Tussle. The northern terminus of the highway is at an intersection with U.S. Route 278 (US 278) in Holly Pond. Route description SR 91 is a two-lane highway that travels through rural areas of Cullman County. Although it is signed as a north–south highway, the first of the highway from its southern terminus actually travels in southeasterly direction. In Arkadelphia, the highway takes a virtual 90-degree turn to the left and assumes a northeasterly trajectory, which it maintains for the duration of its length. Arkadelphia, Alabama
Arkadelphia is an unincorporated community in Cullman County, Alabama, United States. History Arkadelphia was settled in the 19th century, with a post office opening in 1854. It was initially located with Blount County. The town's etymology is disputed. Some believe Arkadelphia was the name of the wife of the first postmaster John A. Donaldson. Some believe it is a combination of "Ark-", the name of an early settlement in nearby Winston County, and "-adelphia", a pseudo-Greek combination meaning "brother-place," likely taken from Philadelphia. There is no known connection to Arkadelphia, Arkansas, an incorporated city founded in 1809 and renamed Arkadelphia in 1839. Mother Mary Angelica of the Annunciation (born Rita Antoinette Rizzo; April 20, 1923 – March 27, 2016), also known as Mother Angelica, was an American Roman Catholic nun of the Poor Clares of Perpetual Adoration. She was best known for the television show ''Mother Angelica Live''. She was the founder of the international broadcast cable television network Eternal Word Television Network (EWTN) and the radio network WEWN. EWTN became a voice for Catholics worldwide. In 1981, Angelica started broadcasting religious programs from a converted garage in Birmingham, Alabama. State Route 69 (SR 69) is a state highway that extends from the southwestern to the northeastern parts of the U.S. state of Alabama. The southern terminus of the highway is at an intersection with SR 177 at Jackson. The northern terminus of the highway is at an intersection with US 431/ SR 79 at Guntersville. Hanceville is a city in Cullman County, Alabama, United States. At the 2020 census, the population was 3,217. History Founded in Blount County, Hanceville was established in 1832 and incorporated in May 1879. At the time of Cullman County's creation in 1877, half of Hanceville resided in each county. In 1885, county boundaries were redrawn and all of Hanceville was placed within Blount County. In 1901, county boundaries were redrawn again and this time all of the town was placed within Cullman County, in which it has remained.
