Alabama State Route 135
State Route 135 (SR 135) is a state highway in southern Baldwin County in the southwestern part of the U.S. state of Alabama. The southern terminus of the highway is at an intersection with SR 182 in Gulf Shores. The northern terminus of the route is at an intersection with SR 180, also in Gulf Shores. It serves as a connecting route between those two highways. The entire highway is inside the boundary of Gulf State Park. Route description SR 135 begins at an intersection with SR 182 (East Beach Boulevard) in the southwestern part of Gulf State Park. It curves to the northwest and passes Shelby Lake. Then, it curves to the west-northwest before curving back to the northwest. It crosses over State Lake Channel and then curves to the northeast. Gulf Shores is a resort city in Baldwin County, Alabama, United States. As of the 2010 Census, the population was 9,741. Geography Gulf Shores is located on the Gulf of Mexico at 30°16'4.069" North, 87°42'5.285" West (30.267797, −87.701468). It is the southernmost settlement in the state of Alabama. It is served by Alabama State Route 59 (Gulf Shores Parkway), which leads north to Foley. Route 182 (Beach Boulevard) runs east-west along the shore front, while Route 180 (Fort Morgan Road) runs parallel to it, north of Little Lagoon. Gulf State Park occupies a large eastern part of the city. Gulf Shores is located west of Pensacola, Florida, south of Mobile, east of New Orleans, south of Montgomery, and west of Navarre, Florida. Baldwin County, Alabama
Baldwin County is a county located in the southwestern part of the U.S. state of Alabama, on the Gulf coast. It is one of only two counties in Alabama that border the Gulf of Mexico, along with Mobile County. As of the 2020 census, the population was 231,767. The county seat is Bay Minette. The county is named after senator Abraham Baldwin, though he never lived in what is now Alabama. Baldwin was Alabama's fastest-growing county from 2010 to 2020, with 4 of the top 10 fastest-growing cities in the state in recent years. State Route 182 (SR 182) is a state highway that serves as the primary east-west connection along the Alabama shoreline of the Gulf of Mexico between Gulf Shores and Orange Beach in Baldwin County. The western terminus of SR 182 dead-ends at a private resort in Pine Beach, and the eastern terminus is located at the Florida state line. Route description SR 182 begins at a private resort in Pine Beach. Gulf State Park
Gulf State Park is a public recreation area on the Gulf of Mexico in the city of Gulf Shores in southern Baldwin County, Alabama. The state park's mostly encompass the land behind the Gulf Shores beach community, between Highway 59 and SH 161, with the west end extending further south to a wide beach area. In addition to beaches, the park includes marshland, boggy tea-colored streams, pine forests, and three spring-fed, fresh-water lakes: Lake Shelby (), Middle Lake, and Little Lake. The park is managed by the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, with park enforcement rangers providing around-the-clock security and enforcing anti-littering regulations.
