Al Ahmad Mosque
The Al Ahmad Mosque ( es, Mezquita Al Ahmad) is an Islamic place of worship in Buenos Aires, Argentina, opened in 1985. It is the second oldest mosque in Buenos Aires but it is the oldest building with Islamic architecture in Argentina and it was designed by Ahmed and Elia Ham. It is located on Alberti St. 1541, San Cristobal neighbourhood. It has a minaret from which the muezzin issues the call for the five daily prays, the dome over the prayer hall also highlights. The Mosque is part of the Islamic Center of Argentina. The Al Ahmad Mosque attends a large number of Muslims on Fridays at noon for Friday Prayers (Jummah), the most important Muslim prayer of the week and hear the sermon delivered by the Imam (Prayer Leader). The nearby Inclán - Mezquita Al Ahmad station of Line H of the Buenos Aires Underground was partially named after the mosque. Buenos Aires Underground
The Buenos Aires Underground ( es, Subterráneo de Buenos Aires, links=no), locally known as Subte (), is a rapid transit system that serves the area of the city of Buenos Aires, Argentina. The first section of this network (Plaza de Mayo–Plaza Miserere) opened in 1913, making it the 13th subway in the world and the first underground railway in Latin America, the Southern Hemisphere, and the Spanish-speaking world, with the Madrid Metro opening five years later, in 1919. As of 2022, Buenos Aires is the only Argentine city with a metro system. Currently, the underground network's six lines—A, B, C, D, E, and H—comprise of routes that serve 90 stations. Argentina is a predominantly Christian country, with Islam being a minority religion. Due to secular nature of the Constitution of Argentina, Argentine constitution, Muslims are free to proselytize and build places of worship in the country. Line H (Buenos Aires Underground)
Line H is a line of the Buenos Aires Underground. The first phase, between Plaza Once and Caseros, which opened on 18 October 2007, currently stretches over 8.8 km between Hospitales and Facultad de Derecho stations. It is the first entirely new line built in Buenos Aires since the opening of Line E on 20 June 1944. According to projections, the line will stretch a total of about 11.85 km and will run from between Retiro to Sáenz once the remaining sections are constructed. It connects the southern part of the city with the north, improving traffic flow to the centre of the city. It is also designed to serve as a transversal line and provide cross-connections across all radial lines, mainly under the axis of Jujuy and Pueyrredón avenues. Imam
Imam (; ar, إمام '; plural: ') is an Islamic leadership position. For Sunni Muslims, Imam is most commonly used as the title of a worship leader of a mosque. In this context, imams may lead Islamic worship services, lead prayers, serve as community leaders, and provide religious guidance. Thus for Sunnis, anyone can study the basic Islamic sciences and become an Imam. For most Shia Muslims, the Imams are absolute infallible leaders of the Islamic community after the Prophet.
