Al-Zubair Stadium
Al-Bahri Sport Club ( ar, نادي البحري الرياضي, lit=''Navy Club'') is an Iraqi football team based in Al-Jubaila, Basra, arrived twice to the semi-final in Iraq FA Cup. In 1990, the Iraqi Defense Ministry dissolved the club within its decision to dissolve all Iraqi military clubs, the club was playing in the Iraqi Premier League, then it was reconstituted. History Al-Bahri were founded in 1976, and in only their second season in existence, they reached the semifinals of the 1977–78 Iraq FA Cup, beating the reigning champions at the time ( Al-Zawra'a) on the way, however they withdrew from the semifinal and handed their opponents Al-Tayaran a 3–0 victory. Al-Zubair District ( ar, قضاء الزبير) is a district in Basra Governorate, Iraq. It seat is the city of Az Zubair, Al-Zubair. In the 1880s some Najd tribes immigrated to al-Zubair due to the fact that Najd had nothing to offer, but around 1945s they returned to their home (Saudi Arabia) after it has changed notably. Basra ( ar, ٱلْبَصْرَة, al-Baṣrah) is an Iraqi city located on the Shatt al-Arab. It had an estimated population of 1.4 million in 2018. Basra is also Iraq's main port, although it does not have deep water access, which is handled at the port of Umm Qasr. Ghazi Fahad
Ghazi Fahad ( ar, غازي فهد ; born 1978) is a coach and former international Iraqi football player, he played as a midfielder. Playing career Ghazi started his playing career at Basra club Al-Zubayr, where he was scouted by Al Minaa manager Hadi Ahmed who signed him for the first team. Ghazi made his debut against Al Quwa Al Jawiya and remained an important player for the club in all four seasons he spent there. Ghazi then moved to Duhok SC for one season playing under Natiq Hashim. The player showed his quality in many matches including one against his former team Al Minaa where he scored. Following his season with Duhok, Ghazi wanted a move to a Baghdad club in order to improve his chance of making the national team, his first choice was Al Quwa Al Jawiya, but he failed to agree to a contract and signed for rivals Al-Zawraa instead. 2000–01 Iraqi Elite League
The 2000–01 Iraqi Elite League was the 27th season of the competition since its foundation in 1974. The name of the league was changed from ''Iraqi First Division'' to ''Iraqi Elite League''. Instead of relegating teams from the 1999–2000 season and promoting teams from the lower division in order to decide which teams were playing in the competition, the Iraq Football Association decided that every eligible team in the country from every division should play qualifying games in order to decide who participated. The qualifying rounds saw a total of 135 teams being split into regional groups, all competing for the 16 places in the league. After all the qualifiers were over in December, the league competition itself was held with each team playing 30 matches.
