Al-Sinaa Sport club ( ar, نادي الصناعة الرياضي, lit=''Industry SC'') is a football club based in Thawra District, East Districts of the Tigris River, Baghdad, that plays in Iraqi Premier League. 2020–21 Iraq Division One
The 2020–21 Iraq Division One was the 47th season of the Iraq Division One, the second tier of the Iraqi football league system since its establishment in 1974. The number of clubs in the league have changed throughout history due to several factors, most recently in this season when the number of clubs increased from 12 to 28 in total. The top team from each group is directly promoted to the Premier League, while a third club can be promoted through play-offs, on the other hand, two clubs from each group are directly relegated to the Division Two. Al-Sinaa won the title and were promoted alongside runners-up Newroz. Format Teams from all over Iraq participated in preliminary qualifications for the final stage. Iraqi Premier League
The Iraqi Premier League ( ar, الدوري العراقي الممتاز) is the top level of the Iraqi football league system. Contested by 20 clubs, it is operated by the Iraq Football Association (IFA) and operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the Iraq Division One. The league was formed by the IFA in 1974 as the Iraqi National Clubs First Division, the first nationwide league of clubs in Iraq. The current format sees 20 teams playing 38 matches each (playing each team in the league twice, home and away), totalling 380 matches in the season. Of the 80 teams to have competed since the inception of the league in 1974, eleven have won the title. Al-Zawraa are the most successful club with 14 titles, followed by Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya, Al-Talaba and Al-Shorta, who together contest the Baghdad derbies. 2021–22 Iraqi Premier League
The 2021–22 Iraqi Premier League is the 48th season of the Iraqi Premier League, the highest tier football league in Iraq, since its establishment in 1974. The season started on 20 September 2021 and will end on 29 May 2022. Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya are the defending champions after winning their seventh title last season. Al-Sinaa, Newroz and Samarra join as the three promoted clubs from the 2020–21 Iraq Division One. They replace Al-Hudood, Al-Samawa and Al-Sinaat Al-Kahrabaiya who were relegated to the 2021–22 Iraq Division One. 2012–13 Iraqi Elite League
The 2012–13 Iraqi Elite League was the 39th season of the competition since its establishment in 1974. The season began on 19 October 2012 and finished on 4 September 2013. Al-Shorta were crowned champions for the third time, finishing on 72 points, two points ahead of nearest competitors Erbil. Having only managed a seventh place finish in the previous season, Al-Shorta's results improved significantly under the presidency of Ayad Bunyan and they were able to outperform favourites Erbil, Duhok, Al-Zawraa and Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya. On the final day of the season, three teams were all still in the race for the title. Al-Shorta needed a win against Al-Talaba to secure the league, whilst Erbil had to defeat Al-Najaf and hope that Al-Shorta failed to win their game if they wanted to retain their title. The 2015–16 Iraqi Premier League (known as the Fuchs Premier League for sponsorship reasons) was the 42nd season of the Iraqi Premier League since its establishment in 1974. The season started on 15 September 2015 and concluded on 22 May 2016. Al-Zawraa won a record 13th Iraqi Premier League title, finishing one point ahead of defending champions Naft Al-Wasat. Al-Zawraa went through all 24 matches without a single defeat: the seventh time that a team has won the league undefeated since the league's inception in 1974. Iraq FA Cup
The Iraq FA Cup, known as the Iraq Cup ( ar, كأس العراق) in Arabic, is an annual knockout football competition in men's domestic Iraqi football. First held in the 1948–49 season for clubs and institutions before returning in 1975–76 for clubs only, it is organised by the Iraq Football Association. The tournament begins with several rounds played between lower division clubs, twelve of which advance to the Round of 32, where the Iraqi Premier League clubs are entered. This is followed by the Round of 16, the quarter-finals, the semi-finals and the final which is played as a single leg in Baghdad. The winners of the competition are awarded a place in the next season's AFC Cup group stage as well as qualifying for the Iraqi Super Cup where they play against the league champions at the start of the following season (or the league runners-up, if the cup winners have won the double). The 2001–02 Iraqi Elite League kicked off on 22 September 2001 and ended on 17 May 2002. Al-Talaba won their fifth league title, finishing six points ahead of Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya and eleven ahead of Al-Shorta. Qusay Munir
Qusay Muneer Abboodi Al-Hussein ( ar, قصي منير عبودي الحسين, born 12 April 1981 in Iraq) is a former footballer and currently head coach of Al-Diwaniya. Prior to his managerial career Muneer was an acclaimed central midfielder with more than 80 caps for the Iraqi National Team, winning the 2007 Asian Cup. Muneer was a well recognised player in the middle east, having played for clubs in Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates. Al-Sinaa Stadium
Al-Sinaa Stadium ( ar, ملعب الصناعة) is a multi-use stadium in Baghdad, Iraq. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home stadium of Al-Sinaa SC. The stadium holds up to 6,000 people. The stadium hosted the 2017 Iraq FA Cup Final on 22August 2017 between Al-Zawraa and Naft Al-Wasat. 1997–98 Iraqi Premier League
The 1997–98 Iraqi Premier League was the 24th season of the competition since its foundation in 1974. For the first time in the competition's history, there were three teams that were in contention for the title on the last day of the season: Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya, Al-Shorta and Al-Zawraa. Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya were playing Al-Zawraa on the final day (22 May) at the same time as Al-Shorta played Al-Sulaikh. Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya needed a win to guarantee the title, whereas Al-Shorta needed Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya to lose or draw and needed to win their game in order to win the league. Al-Zawraa needed to beat Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya and needed Al-Shorta to draw or lose their match if they wanted to clinch the title. The Iraq Division One is the second-highest division of the Iraqi football league system after the Premier League. The league is contested by 24 clubs. It is operated by the Iraq Football Association (IFA). Each season, the two top-finishing teams in the Division One are automatically promoted to the Premier League.
